Wrestling Coach Selected to National Hall of Fame

St. Pius X wrestling head coach Mike Lancaster has been selected as a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Georgia Chapter Class of 2020.  Lancaster joins a class of six individuals who will be inducted in May as "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" recipients.  The honor recognizes individuals who have contributed at least 20 years to the sport of wrestling.  

Lancaster, a 1978 graduate of Georgia State University, has served as the head coach of the Golden Lions since 2014.  Throughout his 38 year tenure as a wrestling coach he has served as head coach at Rockdale County, Druid Hills, Duluth and twice at Berkmar. He was named Coach of the Year in 1998 by the Gwinnett County Takedown Club.  In addition to his wrestling duties, he also serves as an assistant football and baseball coach for St. Pius X.

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  The induction for the Georgia Chapter of the Hall will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2020 during the Honors Celebration Banquet in Duluth.
