Solar Eclipse Special Schedule

Monday, August 14, 2017

On Monday, August 21, 2017, St. Pius X will fall in the 97th percent of totality for the eclipse of the sun.

In preparation for the eclipse, the school has purchased special viewing glasses for all faculty, staff, and students. The school has developed a special schedule for the day and we will have an assembly at the end of the day in the stadium to watch the eclipse.

It is imperative that we have your assistance at home in stressing to your students that they follow the instructions given to them by their science teachers and most importantly to not look at the sun without the protection of the viewing glasses.

Our assembly, in the stadium, will begin at 2:15 p.m. This assembly is for St. Pius X students, faculty, and staff only and we cannot accommodate additional family members.

If you do not want your student to participate in the assembly on August 21, 2017, you must pick up your student by the end of 8th period which will end at 2:10 p.m. as we will not have any other accommodations for students who are not participating in the assembly. All normal early dismissal policies will remain in place - A note must be given to Mrs. Polzin the morning of dismissal in the Attendance Office in order for your student to be dismissed at 2:10 p.m. and the note must be signed by you, the parent.

Thank you for your assistance.
