"Induction Day": Maloney Makes U.S. Naval Academy Commitment

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND -- As our country celebrates its 250th anniversary, St. Pius X is proud to report that Maggie Maloney '26 is officially a member of the United States Naval Academy. The Golden Lions' three-sport star, recent winner of the St. Pius X Senior Female Athlete of the Year award, took her Oath of Office after a long day of forms, medical exams, distribution of uniforms and equipment, fact memorizations and recitations, and haircuts. 

As the midshipmen marched into Bancroft Hall and the doors poignantly shut behind them, I was filled with so many emotions. Please know that one of them was immense gratitude for SPX and especially each of you. Maggie graduated from SPX as a faith-filled, well-educated, confident, and athletic young lady, filled with optimism about her future. On behalf of our entire family, THANK YOU!

Some of Maggie Maloney's sporting impact at PiHi during her senior year:

• All-Area player in Flag Football (Team won area, 16-7 record, state quarterfinalist - Postion: Quarterback)
• First Team All-Region in Softball (Team 2nd in region, 19-16 record, state playoffs 2nd round - Position: First Base, batted .313, .879 OPS, 151 put outs)
• Threw Shot Put and Discus for Track & Field Team (#1 on team in both)

Curiously, Midshipman Maloney was inducted alongside 2025 St. Pius X graduate Colin Crosby. Even more curiously, Maggie herself won't be able to read this until August, as midshipmen begin a training program known as Plebe Summer and won't have access to social media or their phones (or their families!) for six weeks.
