Senior Mary Brady has been named the 2020-21 Gatorade Georgia Girls Cross Country Player of the Year. Brady is the first Gatorade Georgia Girls Cross Country Player of the Year to be chosen from St. Pius X Catholic High School. She becomes the eighth Golden Lion student-athlete to earn Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year in their respective sports. Last weekend, the RoboLions Robotics team participated in the state championships. And for the first time in the history of the organization, the RoboLions have had the team of Cody Nelson, Eli Black, Markus Paxton, Nathan Lathrop, and Zainab Hicks qualify for the World Championships.

Thanks to all who contributed to a very successful on campus Blood Drive last Thursday, March 25. Thanks to our amazing students, we collected 95 units! The American Red Cross estimates that for every pint of donated blood, three lives can be saved. Thank you to the parent volunteers and faculty that made the day possible. Home and School sponsors the St. Pius X Blood Drive committee. Our next drive will be held in the Fall of 2021.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the 7th Annual Songwriting Contest! St. Pius X is proud to announce our two winners: "On the Highway" with 81 votes and "Walking in Love" with 74 votes. "On the Highway" was written and recorded by Jessica Trane and Julia Tardy. "Walking in Love" was written and recorded by Vincent Casal, Will Schmidt, and David Castro. The winning songs will be played at our upcoming Spring Arts Festival on Saturday, May 1. Congratulations!

Todd Mooney has been selected as the Athletic Director of the Year from Region 5-5A.  He was selected by his peers for this recognition.  The award will be presented at the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA) Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Congratulations, Coach Mooney!

Last week saw the Golden Lions in action in all but one spring sport.  Girls' soccer dropped to the second spot in the Score Atlanta AAAAA state poll, while the boys' soccer team remains in the No. 3 spot.  Girls' lacrosse continues to hold in the No. 10 spot in the Score Atlanta state poll for A-5A teams.   Baseball took three of four games since last week as it moved above the .500-mark with a 6-5 record and 1-0 in Region 5-AAAAA play.  The Golden Lions knocked off Norcross 8-1 before...
