Principal Dr. Edye Simpson and President John Favier were featured in the Georgia Bulletin's back to school issue this past weekend. Simpson is in her 17th year at St. Pius X. She is the first woman and first person of color to serve as principal of the school. The role of Department Chair is to act in a leadership role and serve as a member on the Academic Council, striving to coordinate the overall academic program. The chair holds regular meetings and acts as a liaison between the department and the Studies Office. In the 2022 academic year, St. Pius X hired Mike Lancaster to be its first Safety, Security, and Compliance Director. Mr. Lancaster is responsible for patrolling the school grounds to ensure student safety and offer assistance for students using remote parking lots during the school day. He also assists in upholding the mission and vision of the school by enforcing the handbook policies and procedures. Dean of Students Maria Kepler joined the St. Pius X community in 2009 as a Latin and English teacher. In her years here, she has mentored students and teachers, served on numerous committees, and led the World Languages Department as Chair. She has also been awarded STAR teacher twice, as well as both Teacher of Excellence and Teacher of the Year. On September 3, the Golden Lions will face off against the Blessed Trinity Titans in the annual Crosstown Showdown football game.
