ESPX, the award-winning student broadcast program at St. Pius X, has been named an Elite program by the NFHS Network for the fifth consecutive year. Only 50 schools from 15 different states achieved the top honor of Elite school, considered the best of the best in terms of producing, broadcasting, promoting and covering their school's athletics. The St. Pius X Dance program presents the annual NOVO Choreography and Benefit performance on Friday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. Students from every dance class work in small groups to create new and innovative choreography. Dance styles range from lyrical to contemporary and jazz. Donations are collected at the end of the performance for a designated charity, and admission is free!

The St. Pius X choruses present their Spring Concert which features the Women’s Ensemble, Men’s Ensemble, Advanced Ensemble, and Mixed Chorus. There will be solos and smaller groups singing and dancing to the “Soundtracks of Our Lives.” The Chorus Ensemble received the highest score of “Superior” at the Large Group Performance Evaluation sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association. Admission is Free.

Our Mothers’ Club Dresden Partnership committee has started the Annual School Supplies Collection Drive. Please see the linked flyer DRESDEN SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE 2019 and help fill a great need at our neighborhood school. Since Dresden is a Title 1 school with mostly lower-income families, many students come to school with no school supplies at all. On Friday, the symphonic band performed for Large Group Performance Evaluation at Newton High School in Covington. The band had a terrific performance earning excellent and superior ratings. Students prepared very challenging music at a high level, and gave a moving performance.
