Junior Josie Lord has been selected Semper Fidelis National Student-Athlete of the Month for November, 2018 by MaxPreps.com and the United State Marine Corps.  Lord led the Golden Lion softball team in batting average, runs batted in and wins during the 2018 season.  The Golden Lions finished 13-13, the first .500 or better mark since 2014, and a nine-game improvement from 2017. Congratulations to Head Swimming and Diving Coach Scott Carter for being named National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Association's Girls' Coach of the Year for the State of Georgia!  Coach Carter has been coaching Swim and Dive for 17 years at St. Pius X. During that time, the team has earned three state titles and four state runner-up titles. Congratulations, Coach!

The St. Pius X Golden Lions will be playing Marist in the second round of the State Playoffs this Friday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic High School. The Roar Store will be pre-selling tickets to St. Pius X families from 8:00 a.m. on November 13 through 1:00 p.m. on November 16.  The St. Pius X Athletic Association VIP passes are not valid for playoff games. Ahead of the St. Pius X vs. Marist game this Friday, September 14, Coach Paul Standard was featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's "Four Questions" article. We will be pre-selling Pius vs Marist football tickets in the Roar Store this Tuesday -  Thursday during school hours and on Friday, game day until 12:00 p.m.  The Roar Store is closed for lunch from 1:15 - 2 p.m. We hope to see you there! As a reminder, this game is a black out. Go Lions!

The Golden Lion women's cross country team recorded a perfect score at the Peachtree Ridge Stage Races over the weekend.  Morgan Vaden paced the lady harriers with a time of 12:10 over the two-mile course.   Only one other women's cross country team has recorded a perfect score at the Stage Races since 2000. The Golden Lions are back in action on September 1 at the Berry College Invitational.

Middle School Softball Tryouts 2018 St. Pius X Middle School Tryouts will be held on 2 separate days. You will only need to attend 1 tryout. June 12: 11:00am-12:30pm July 11: 6:00pm-7:30pm Please email Amie McDougal @ amcdougal@spx.org with the tryout date you plan on attending. Each player will need to bring a glove, bat, tennis shoes and water bottle. Our softball program has moved to a 100% turf field so please do not bring metal spikes. Boys' Track & Field coach Ryan McClay and junior thrower Tanner Duffin were recognized Wednesday, June 6 by the Atlanta Track Club at their annual Powerade All-Metro Track & Field Banquet. Duffin received the Bruce Yohe Outstanding Male Field Athlete of the year. He won the 4A State discus title with a throw of 189' 3" and recently broke 200' to record the no. 3 throw in the nation.
