St. Pius X wrestling head coach Mike Lancaster has been selected as a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Georgia Chapter Class of 2020.  Lancaster joins a class of six individuals who will be inducted in May as "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" recipients.  The honor recognizes individuals who have contributed at least 20 years to the sport of wrestling.   Lancaster, a 1978 graduate of Georgia State University, has served as the head coach of the Golden Lions since 2014. ... On Friday, the Golden Lions will travel to Woodward for a second round state playoff game at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets for the game are $10 and can be purchased at the gate or online here.  There will be no pre-sale of paper tickets.

St. Pius X has won the Georgia Athletic Directors Association (GADA) Regions Bank Director's Cup for the 2018-19 school year in the AAAA classification of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA). The Golden Lions won its sixth cup overall and its first in AAAA ending the 19-year run of rival Marist. Freshman Ayden Hess, a member of the Division 3 state championship St Pius X water polo team, recently competed in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Championships in Riverside, California.  Competing against teams from geographic zones around the country, Ayden played for the Southeast zone in the Cadet age division. Junior Josie Lord has been selected Semper Fidelis National Student-Athlete of the Month for November, 2018 by and the United State Marine Corps.  Lord led the Golden Lion softball team in batting average, runs batted in and wins during the 2018 season.  The Golden Lions finished 13-13, the first .500 or better mark since 2014, and a nine-game improvement from 2017. Congratulations to Head Swimming and Diving Coach Scott Carter for being named National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Association's Girls' Coach of the Year for the State of Georgia!  Coach Carter has been coaching Swim and Dive for 17 years at St. Pius X. During that time, the team has earned three state titles and four state runner-up titles. Congratulations, Coach!
