The new SPX Advanced Guitar Ensemble album, Songs from the Barn, Vol.V is out on all major streaming platforms. The album was recorded at Callanwolde Recording Studios in January 2021 and features four original songs. Thank you to everyone who voted in the 7th Annual Songwriting Contest! St. Pius X is proud to announce our two winners: "On the Highway" with 81 votes and "Walking in Love" with 74 votes. "On the Highway" was written and recorded by Jessica Trane and Julia Tardy. "Walking in Love" was written and recorded by Vincent Casal, Will Schmidt, and David Castro. The winning songs will be played at our upcoming Spring Arts Festival on Saturday, May 1. Congratulations!

March 25-27 at 7 pm, March 28 at 2pm The Annual Spring Dance Concert Forward Motion will feature the St. Pius X Dance Company, Dance III classes, and the Dance Team.  A variety of work will showcase jazz, contemporary, pointe, and hip hop styles.  Audiences will enjoy pieces by Rachel Truitt, Mitzi Anderson, Pumkin Harris, and Madison Schrama, as well as student choreography. Recently, the St. Pius X theatre department took the show on the road and participated in the GHSA State Competition for the first time in the history of the program. Congratulations to Advanced Drama Company students Chloe Burgoon and Gracie Rosenberg, who were just named semifinalists in the national essay competition, Democracyworks.    Democracyworks is the Educational Theatre Association's student essay competition sponsored by Concord Theatricals. Students have submitted incredible artwork in a variety of categories including drawing, mixed media, photography, 2-D design, sculpture/ceramics, and painting for the 17th Annual Juried Visual Arts Exhibition. This year, the exhibit was judged by Melissa Harshman, printmaing professor at UGA's Lamar Dodd School of Art. Students in the intermediate guitar class recently completed a songwriting project where they were tasked with writing and recording original songs. The students primarily used SoundTrap but also had access to Pro Tools in the classroom.
