The St. Pius X Guitar Program was recently featured in an article written by Andrew Nelson of The Georgia Bulletin. The program has been a part of the curriculum at St. Pius X for about 20 years, with Mr. Brion Kennedy leading the charge of the highly successful program for the past ten years. His goal is to guide students in deepening their talents and giving them freedom to teach their peers and develop their skills as both musicians and leaders. Before the holidays, students in Theology teacher Mr. Dennis Ruggiero's Genocide and Holocaust class traveled to the nation's capitol to tour the city and visit the National Holocaust Museum. Mr. Ruggiero has been teaching the popular, senior-only elective course for nearly 20 years. St. Pius X wrestling head coach Mike Lancaster has been selected as a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Georgia Chapter Class of 2020. Lancaster joins a class of six individuals who will be inducted in May as "Lifetime Service to Wrestling" recipients. The honor recognizes individuals who have contributed at least 20 years to the sport of wrestling. The St. Pius X biennial gala is the number one fundraising event for our school. On Friday, the Golden Lions will travel to Woodward for a second round state playoff game at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the game are $10 and can be purchased at the gate or online here. There will be no pre-sale of paper tickets.
