Service

At the core of who we are is our ability to serve, not just the St. Pius X community, but the broader community as well. The St. Pius Mothers’ Club has many opportunities to help.

Mother/Child Winter Service Day: Moms and students are invited to come work on any of the four service projects throughout the morning. SPX Students will receive one WOM credit for attending this service day.  Traditionally held the 1st Saturday of February.

  • Pillows for Pam: Make small pillows to give breast cancer patients at local hospitals. Volunteers with sewing machines are needed. This program honors the memory of Pam Haddad Miller, a '72 St. Pius alum, alum parent and active member of Mothers' Club.
  • Toiletries for the Homeless: A way to put all your extra travel sized toiletries to use. We will prepare several hundred toiletry packets for the St. Vincent de Paul Society to distribute at homeless shelters.
  • Project Snuggle Bug: Makes hand-tied fleece blankets for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.
  • Letters for Soldiers: Write letters to deployed family members from the St. Pius X community.

Dresden School Supplies Drive: Collects school supplies to help stock the teachers’ closets at Dresden Elementary School for the coming year. The entire SPX community is asked to help if able.  Held February & March.

Dresden Christmas Project: Coordinates, in conjunction with Campus Ministries, Christmas gifts for Dresden Elementary School children in need. The entire SPX community is asked to come together and give in the spirit of Christmas. Held December.

Dresden Service Day: Mothers’ Club helps coordinate students to volunteer to work along side the Dresden Elementary School community and receive a choice WOM credit.  Dates TBD.

Blankets for Dresden: Mothers’ Club volunteers work with students to make blankets that will be used for the Christmas Project. Students are eligible for a WOM credit. Held October.

Dresden Teacher Coffees & Luncheons: Mothers’ Club hosts two coffee gatherings and two teacher luncheons to show appreciation to the Dresden Elementary School teachers and to build community among the school family.
