Bowman Named Boys' Soccer Coach

Director of Athletics Todd Mooney has named Mr. Rex Bowman as Head Boys' Soccer Coach at St Pius X Catholic High School.  Bowman will join the faculty in the Science department.  

"I have had the good fortune to serve with Coach Bowman and am tremendously impressed with his commitment to both academics and athletics as well as his ability to develop lasting relationships with his athletes. I have no doubt he will continue our drive for state championships in boys soccer," said Mooney.

Mr. Bowman holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Berry College and is currently working toward his Master's of Science in Management at Shorter University.  He is a Board Certified Instructor in both AP Chemistry and AP Environmental Science. 

"I am excited to announce that Mr. Rex Bowman has accepted our invitation to become the next boys' soccer coach," said St. Pius X Principal Steve Spellman. "Mr. Bowman brings a wealth of  teaching and soccer experience including a state championship at Father Ryan Catholic High School in Tennessee.  I know that we will all welcome Coach Bowman to the St. Pius X family."

Mr. Bowman comes to us after serving on the faculty and as an assistant soccer coach at King's Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta,GA for the past six years.  In addition to his time at King's Ridge, he has coached with both the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Club from 2012-2018 and the Georgia Olympic Development Program from 2007-2016.   Mr. Bowman has served on the faculty and coached/managed the Soccer Academy at The Darlington School in Rome, GA.  He also served on the faculty and as head coach for both boys soccer and wrestling at Donelson Christian Academy in Nashville, TN.   He began his career on the faculty and coaching at Father Ryan in Nashville, winning a state championship in boys' soccer in 2005.

"I am tremendously honored and blessed to join the St. Pius X community.  I am very excited to serve St. Pius X not only as a member of the science department but also as the new head boys soccer coach," said Bowman.  "I will strive and dedicate my efforts to continue the successes of St. Pius in the classroom and on the soccer field!  Let's go Golden Lions!"

Mr. Bowman and his wife, Brenda are the parents of two boys; Grant (15 ) and Dylan (12).
