Head Varsity Football Cheerleading Coach

Alison Wright  


Coach Wright is in her eighth year as Head Cheerleading Coach, tenth year as the head coach for the St. Pius Cheerleading Program. Mrs. Wright coaches the Varsity Football Cheerleading squad and has coached Varsity Basketball and Competition Cheerleading for many years prior. A 2001 SPX alum, Alison was also a member of the cheerleading program when she attended high school. In addition to coaching cheerleading at SPX, Mrs. Wright is also a CrossFit trainer and is an avid tennis player. She currently teaches Psychology and Sociology in the Social Studies Department and is a member of GHSA and GCCA. Coach Wright married her husband Richard (SPX '99) in 2016, and the couple currently resides in Brookhaven.

Coach Wright attended Vanderbilt University for B.S. degrees in K-8 Education and Child Developmental Studies. She continued her schooling at The University of Georgia, where she obtained her M.Ed. in Social Science Education and Gifted Education and then completed her Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University last May. For two years, Coach Wright taught third grade at Holsenbeck Elementary in Winder, GA and coached cheerleading squads at Winder-Barrow High School.
