LIZ ROSS, HEAD COACH
A 1985 SPX alum, Coach Liz Gulick Ross is thrilled to join the Varsity Dance Team as head coach. Born and raised in Atlanta, she studied dance with Carolyn and Lynn Fleetwood and competed on the regional level. While as a student at The College of Charleston, she studied with dancer, choreographer and artistic director Robert Ivey. After college, from 1991 to 2000, Coach Ross taught at SPX in the English Department. During that time she served as Bonnie Spark’s assistant with the Pius Players and choreographed dances for the musicals includingCamelot and Fiddler on the Roof. In 2000, she moved to Los Angeles and taught at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, an all-girls, private Catholic school, for 13 years. During her time in LA, she trained in Studio City with Tracy Anderson as well as serving as the Educational Director and Assistant Choreographer for the theatre company Vanguard Rep. Coach Ross is delighted to be back home. In addition to teaching English at SPX and coaching, Mrs. Ross teaches fitness classes at West Coast Workout in Buckhead, is currently pursuing her MAT in Secondary Education - English through Mercer University and recently opened The Windmill Arts Center in East Point that houses two state of the art facilities dedicated to fostering performance and visual arts.
