MIKE LANCASTER, HEAD FRESHMAN COACH:

Coach Lancaster is beginning his 39th year of coaching and 9th season with the St. Pius X football team. Additionally, Coach Lancaster is beginning his fifth year as the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach and 9th season as an assistant baseball coach for the Golden Lions. Coach Lancaster spent 35 years teaching and coaching in the metropolitan area, retiring from the Gwinnett County Public School System in June of 2014. Coach Lancaster and his wife, Lisa, have two children, a son, Marc, and a daughter, Laura.

DOUG WAGNER, ASSISTANT FRESHMAN COACH

Coach Wagner begins his fifth season with the Golden Lions after 33 years at Parkview High School, where he taught mathematics, served as mathematics department chair, and coached football, baseball, and wrestling. Coach Wagner graduated from Georgia Tech and earned his M. Ed., Ed. S, and Ph.D. from Georgia State University in Mathematics Education. He wrestled his freshman year at North Carolina State University and played and coached football at Georgia Tech. Coach Wagner is very excited and feels extremely honored to continue his work as a Mathematics Teacher and freshman coach at St. Pius X. He has two sons, John 31, who is married to Heather, and Jim 22 as well as having one granddaughter, Grace who is 3 1/2.

BLAISE WANNEMACHER, FRESHMAN ASSISTANT

Coach Wannemacher (SPX ’06) begins his ninth year coaching football at St. Pius X. As a student-athlete at St. Pius X, he played quarterback for the Golden Lions football team under Coach Standard. He also played baseball and basketball at St. Pius X, and has coached both sports at St. Pius X. He and his wife Lisette (SPX ’06), live in Lilburn and have two children, Pace (5) and Palmer (3).

TOM KSYSIONZYK, FRESHMAN ASSISTANT

This is Coach Ksionzyk’s 13th season coaching football for the Golden Lions. He coaches wide receiver, defensive backs and special teams. He has previously been a St. Pius baseball coach and his son Kevin played baseball and football for the Lions.

 

This year's Banquet will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 1:00PM-4:00PM in the SPX Cafeteria
