Chad GarrisonCoach Garrison returns for his fourth year as the Head Coach of the Golden Lion Baseball program. This is his 19th year at St. Pius X and marks his 28th year of coaching in high school athletics. He also serves as an Assistant Athletic Director and Physical Education Department Chair. A graduate of North Georgia College, his previous stops include Campbell High School and The Lovett School. He and his wife of 30 years, Barbara have three children: Kelci (SPX '09), Mackenzie (SPX '13), and Brennan (SPX '16).

MIKE LANCASTER, Assistant Varsity Coach
Mike LancasterCoach Lancaster is beginning his 40th year of coaching and 9th season with the St. Pius X Catholic High School baseball program. Additionally, Coach Lancaster is the Head Varsity wrestling coach and Head Freshman football coach at St. Pius X Catholic High School. Coach Lancaster spent 35 years teaching and coaching in the metropolitan Atlanta area, retiring from the Gwinnett County Public School System in June of 2014. Coach Lancaster and his wife, Lisa, have two children, a son, Marc, and a daughter, Laura.

ANDREW MABINI, Assistant Varsity Coach
Andrew MabiniCoach Mabini (SPX '10) begins his fifth year with the Golden Lions. Coach Mabini will work with the varsity pitchers and middle infielders in 2019. Previously, he was an assistant middle school coach (2015) and the head coach of the freshman team (2016). His objective is not to just grow young men on a baseball diamond, but to help them grow as young men in their everyday lives. Coach Mabini is a graduate of Maryville College, where he played middle infield for the Scots baseball team. He is a teacher in the Business / Computer Science department at St. Pius X. Coach Mabini lives in Atlanta with his wife Stevie and son Robert (6).

TREY BROUSSARD, Assistant Varsity Coach
Trey BroussardCoach Broussard (SPX ’01) is in his third season with the Golden Lions baseball program, but first with the varsity after serving as the head freshman coach for two seasons. Previously, he was a member of the Golden Lion Fast Pitch Softball staff (Head JV Coach, 2014-16; Assistant Varsity Coach, 2017). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Valdosta State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. Coach Broussard is a teacher in the English department at St. Pius X. He and his wife, Dr. Meredith Miller, reside in Dunwoody and have two dogs, Maddux and Kingston.

BOBBY TIPPETT, Assistant Varsity Coach
Bobby TippettCoach Tippett returns for his fourth year as a member of the Golden Lion Baseball staff. As a catcher, he was a standout player at Lakeside High School where he was named All-DeKalb County Gold Glove (2013), 2nd team All-DeKalb County (2013), 1st team All-DeKalb County (2014), Pre-Season All-American (2014) and 1st team All-Region (2014). In 2015, Coach Tippett played baseball at the University of North Georgia and was named a Peach Belt Conference Presidential Scholar. Currently, Coach Tippett is a student, majoring in Biology (Pre-Med), at Georgia State University.

GARY LEINER, Head Junior Varsity Coach
Gary LeinerCoach Leiner begins his sixth year with the Golden Lions Baseball program. He began his coaching career at St. Pius X as an assistant basketball coach under legendary basketball coach and athletic director, Mark Kelly. Coach Leiner went on to coach basketball, baseball and soccer during his first 9 years at St. Pius X. Most of Coach Leiner’s coaching experience has been in the sport of basketball, where he has coached for over 26 years as both a high school and college coach. Coach Leiner returned to St. Pius X in 2008 as an Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach. He also served as the Head Coach of the Golden Lions Fastpitch Softball program for three seasons (2014-16). He is happily married and has two children, Jonathan (SPX ‘13) and Lindsay (SPX ‘15).
PAUL STANDARD III, Assistant Junior Varsity Coach
Paul Standard IIICoach Standard (SPX '09) begins his second year with the Golden Lion's coaching staff, working with first basemen and outfielders. Coach Standard went to LaGrange College as a student-athlete where he played safety for the Panther football team and earned a degree in History. He went on to earn a Master's Degree in Secondary Education at The Citadel. While in graduate school, Coach Standard was a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Bulldog's football team. Coach Standard is a part of the Social Studies and Physical Education departments at St. Pius X, teaching U.S. History and Health & Wellness. He also is an assistant coach for the Golden Lions varsity football team

KEVIN KSIONZYK, Head Freshman Coach
Kevin KsionzykCoach Ksionzyk (SPX '05) returns for his seventh season as a coach for the Golden Lions. After having been a coach in our middle school program for six years, this is Coach Ksionzyk's first as the head coach of the freshman team. He was a standout player for St. Pius X, and a member of the first team in school history to advance to the state quarterfinals (2004). Coach Ksionzyk played for two seasons at Pitt Community College (Winterville, NC), leading the 2006 team in hitting (.430 average) and earning second team all-conference honors. In addition to coaching at St. Pius X, he also coaches a 13-year old travel baseball team. He is a graduate of Georgia State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. Coach Ksionzyk works in technology sales at Jacada and lives in Peachtree Corners with his wife, Marie (SPX '06), and their dog Peaches.

BRIAN OGLE, Assistant Freshman Coach
Brian OgleCoach Ogle (SPX '06), returns for his ninth season as a member of the Golden Lions coaching staff. Coach Ogle's first eight years in the program were with our middle school teams. While a student at St. Pius X, Coach Ogle was a member of the baseball team. In addition to coaching at St. Pius X, he has experience coaching travel baseball. He works for an engineering firm and lives in Atlanta with his dog, Cooper.

JAY KAPP, Head Middle School Navy Coach
Jay KappThe 2019 season will be Coach Kapp's (SPX '94) ninth season in the Golden Lions baseball program. He has been a head junior varsity coach (2001-04) and a head middle school coach (2000, 2005-06, 2018). Additionally, he was the assistant varsity coach for the Golden Lions Fastpitch Softball team for five seasons (2002-04, 2006-07). When not on the diamond, you can find Coach Kapp working at Kapp Koncepts, a digital marketing and graphic design firm he founded in 2001. Coach Kapp and his wife, Jenniffer (SPX ‘94), live in Dunwoody with their three children: Charlie (SPX '22), Madeline (10) and Julia (4).

PAUL BENOIT, Assistant Middle School Navy Coach
Paul BenoitCoach Benoit (SPX '15) returns to the Golden Lions coaching staff for the 2019 season. He was a pitcher and outfielder for the Golden Lions and helped the team set a school-record for wins (29) and advance to the quarterfinals of the state tournament during his senior season. While attending Carnegie Mellon University, he was a member of the club baseball team. Currently, Coach Benoit is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Robotics at Kennesaw State University and coaches a 13-year old travel baseball team.

ARTHUR EBBS, Head Middle School Gold Coach
Arthur EbbsCoach Ebbs returns for his second season with the Golden Lions. He has coached baseball at Druid Hills Youth Sports for the past several years and is a past member of the board of directors. Coach Ebbs practices law with the law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (US), LLP with a focus on commercial litigation. He lives in Atlanta with his wife Teresa Hungeling Ebbs (SPX '98) and children Liam (13), Arthur (11), Audrey (9), and Charlotte (6). The Ebbs are parishioners at Immaculate Heart of Mary. 

ED HONG, Assistant Middle School Gold Coach
Ed HongCoach Hong is back for his second year as a member of the Golden Lions baseball staff. Previously, he was the head coach of the Golden Lions middle school softball team (2016-17). Additionally, Coach Hong also has experience coaching at Murphey Candler Baseball and Murphey Candler Girls Softball Association. During the daytime, he is the Vice President of Retail Operations for Clipper Petroleum. Coach Hong and his wife, Carol Anne, live in Tucker with their two children: Elizabeth (SPX '22) and Daniel (13).
