Tech Crew

The St. Pius X Tech Crew is the magic “behind the scenes” of all St. Pius X Fine Arts performances. Tech Crew members will learn about all aspects of Technical Theater including lighting, live sound, set building, stage management, and beyond! We’ll get behind state-of-the-art equipment in the Young Center and learn what it takes to be a theater ninja. 

Students will learn:

• Time management, self-sufficiency, creative problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork
• Basic hand and power tool operation
• Common carpentry practices
• Safe shop procedures
• Industry standard technical systems and practices for professional lighting and audio

• Over 100 light fixtures including 6 moving fixtures
• Industry standard ETC Ion light board
• Presonus Studiolive 64S hybrid analog/digital audio mixer
• 18 channels of wireless audio
• LCR line array speaker system
• Dedicated shop for repair, maintenance, and set-building including a miter saw station, table saw, track saw, dust collection, a wide variety of cordless power tools, Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D Printer, and more…
