New Students & Auditions

As you consider your elective options, we hope you will explore the outstanding classes we offer in our Fine Arts Department. We have the following disciplines: Band, Chorus, Dance, Guitar, Music Production, Music Theory, Tech Crew, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Students must enroll in at least .5 credits over 4 years to graduate from St. Pius X. Many of our students find space in their schedules to focus and build their skills over 3-4 years in a chosen discipline. Students who meet specific requirements also receive a diploma seal in recognition of their years of dedication to the arts.

Please find information about auditioning for different areas of the Fine Arts Department as an incoming student for the 2026-27 School Year below. Linked to each area is an interest/audition intent form you can fill out.

Band: Feel free to drop by the Band Room (Room 100) on Tuesday 4/28 from 3:30-4:30 for an informal meet and greet and information about the band program.

Dance: Auditions for Dance Company, Advanced Dance, and Dance III are Wednesday 4/22 from 3:30-4:30. Dance Company Pointe Auditions are Wednesday 4/22 from 4:30-5:00. Auditions for Dance Team are Wednesday 4/22 from 5:00-6:00. Auditions for Dance I and Dance II are Thursday 4/23 from 3:30-4:30. Registration for auditions and specific information can be found in the link above. Please submit the form by Tuesday, 4/21.

Guitar: Please see the form for information regarding guitar. Beginning Guitar does not require an audition, but Intermediate and Advanced Guitar do require an audition.

Music Production: Please fill out the form if you are interested in music production classes.

Theatre: Auditions for Avanced Drama Company and Advanced Musical Theater are virtual and due by 4/27 at 11:59PM. Please see the form for more information. Other theatre classes such as Acting I do not require an audition.

Theatre Tech: Please fill out the form if you are interested in technical theatre classes.

Visual Arts: Please fill out the form for information regarding visual arts classes. Upper level courses may require submission of work for a recommendation.

Vocal Studio/Chorus: Please fill out the form for information regarding vocal studio/chorus. Vocal studio classes do not require an audition
