Plan Your Visit
We would love to host you on campus and there are a few ways to do so for official enrollment visits, but please know you are welcome to attend one of our many Athletic or Fine Arts events! If applying this year, we suggest you come to both the Open House (the first Sunday of every November) as well as a Shadow Day! Open House allows you to see the greater SPX community in action and the Shadow Days allow your student to experience a day in the life of a Golden Lion. Both events have tours available for the whole family.
In order to register for a Shadow Day, you must create a free family account with Ravenna. For Open House, you register upon arrival.
We also have a Pius Preview event each semester for families with younger students looking ahead to their high school future!
Shadow Day
Shadow Day
A shadow day is the best way for a prospective student to explore what it is like to be a Golden Lion. Shadow day sign up is through Ravenna and only available to students in the eighth grade or older. We designate some shadow days for specific schools sending a large number of their 8th grade students in order to minimize disruption to their academic calendar.
Student Portion: 8:30am – 1:15pm
- Itinerary: Students will gather for a short information session with our leadership team and then take a tour with our Lion Leaders (junior and senior student leaders). Following the tour, they are matched with a host student (9th or 10th grader) to attend three academic classes and eat lunch.
- Attire: We ask that students wear their current school uniform if applicable. Otherwise, please have them attend in business casual attire.
- Materials & Lunch: In case your student attends a class where they are taking a test or quiz, we ask that shadow students bring a book with them. We provide lunch! Students will choose from the menu offered by Sage Dining in our cafeteria.
Parent Portion (Optional): 8:30am – 9:45am
We invite parents to join their students for a short information session with our leadership team and a tour of campus given by junior and senior Lion Leaders. Coffee and light refreshments will be available. After the tour, parents will leave their students to start their day with host 9th and 10th grade students. Pick up is at 1:15pm in the front circle.
