Who We Are

Jenniffer M. Kapp, M.S., LPC
Director of Counseling
Mrs. Kapp, MS, LPC, has worked at St. Pius X since 2001, and as Director of Guidance and Counseling since 2008. In addition to her current role, Mrs. Kapp has served the SPX community as head cheerleading coach (2002-2004) and dance assistant (2002-2003). She received her Bachelor of Arts from Winthrop University (Psychology major and Dance minor) and a Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in professional counseling. Outside of school, Mrs. Kapp works as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a private practice and teaches Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP). Mrs. Kapp and her three sisters are all St. Pius X graduates. Mrs. Kapp lives in Dunwoody with her husband and children. Email Mrs. Kapp.

Arline Umpierre, M.Ed.
Professional School Counselor
Mrs. Umpierre received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University and a Master's in School Counseling from American Public University. Prior to coming to St. Pius X, she was both a school counselor and teacher for Gwinnett County Schools. Mrs. Umpierre lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children. Mary Pat Martin, LCSW, MAT
Professional School Counselor
Mrs. Martin is a SPX alum and SPX Junior Varsity Track coach (2010-present). Mrs. Martin loves running and eating chocolate. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from Georgia State University, a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia, and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Mercer University. Mrs. Martin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified School Social Worker and Teacher in Georgia. She has experience working as a medical social worker and school counselor. Prior to coming to SPX, she was both a school counselor and teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary school for over ten years. Mrs. Martin lives in Atlanta with her four children. Mrs. Martin's husband, James, is also an SPX Alum along with three of her children. Her youngest is a current student. Email Mrs. Martin.

Marcelyn Linsey, M.Ed., Ph.d.
Professional School Counselor
Dr. Linsey joins the St. Pius X Counseling Department after developing college and counseling program curricula for six years in international schools in Qatar and Brazil. Prior to those settings, Dr. Linsey served the DeKalb County School District as a counselor and teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Childhood Education from Georgia State University (concentration in English and Social Science), Master of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College and Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Capella University. William Shifrin, M.S.

Professional School Counselor

Mr. Shifrin is a first year Counselor here at St. Pius X and is an Assistant Coach for the Golden Lions Football team.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University in Indiana and Masters of Science degree from Central Connecticut State University.  He is originally from Avon, Connecticut but has lived in Indiana, New York, Texas and North Carolina as well.  Mr. Shifrin grew up in a family of educators and worked as a paraprofessional during summers starting when he was in high school.  Mr. Shifrin went to Fordham Law School for a year and worked in Technical Sales before deciding his true passion was in counseling and coaching.  He loves traveling, spending time with his wife, friends and family while cheering on the Jets, Knicks, Yankees and Boilermakers.  Mr. Shifrin lives in Sandy Springs with his wife, Jaylyn.

Jane Gennaro Udell
Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Udell has been at St. Pius X since 2001. She is a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Business School in New York. Mrs. Udell lives in East Cobb with her husband, Ed, and is the proud parent of: Chris '03, Matt '05, Patrick '09, and Joanna '11 (Thompson). Email Mrs. Udell.
