Coaches

SCOTT CARTER, HEAD SWIMMING & DIVING COACH 
Coach Carter has been coaching at St. Pius X since 1999. During his tenure as Head Coach the St. Pius Swimming and Diving team has produced numerous All-American and All-State athletes. Coach Carter has led the Golden Lions to 2 Boys State Championship and four State Runner-Up Titles.  In 2014 and 2017 Coach Carter was named Georgia High School Coach of the Year. Coach Carter attended Auburn University, where he was a proud member of the Auburn Lacrosse team and has been inducted into the Class of 2017 South Eastern Lacrosse Conference Hall of Fame. Coach Carter teaches Social Studies at St. Pius X and also served as the Head Coach of the Boys' Lacrosse Team for 13 years and coached Football for 10 years. He and his wife, Sarah, have a daughter, Darby, and a son, Liam. (Contact Coach Carter)

TIM HALLISEY, DIVING COACH
Tim Hallisey has been coaching at St. Pius since 2002. Coach Hallisey comes from the Alabama Junior program, where he won numerous county titles, high school titles and finished in the top 5 several times in the High School State Championship. He finished his competitive diving career when he attended the University of Alabama. Coach Hallisey has been coaching for over 25 years and been with Atlanta Diving since 1994. He is married to Rosanne and they have a daughter Emily attending the Universality of Alabama (2014). (Contact Coach Hallisey) 

KATIE STILSON, ASSISTANT SWIMMING COACH: Director of Communications & Logistics
Coach Stilson has been with the Swim Team since 2009. Coach Stilson is a proud graduate of both St. Pius and the University of Georgia, and is a Math Teacher and Assistant Athletic Director at SPX. She is happily married to Rob, a fellow UGA graduate, and has two daughters, Claire and Evie. (Contact Coach Stilson) 

JASON EAGLEN, ASSISTANT SWIMMING COACH
Coach Eaglen has been with the Swim Team since 2008. He is a full-time Faculty member at St. Pius X as a Theology Teacher. He is also the Throws Coach for Track and Field. Coach Eaglen believes that athletics is an excellent way to help fulfill the School’s Mission to educate the mind, body, and spirit of every student, and enjoys watching athletes grow each year as they strive to beat the goals that challenge their potential and help the team overall. Coach Eaglen is happily married to Amy Eaglen, Theology Teacher at Marist School, and is the proud father of four children. (Contact Coach Eaglen)

HEATHER O'TOOLE, ASSISTANT SWIMMING COACH
Coach O'Toole has been with the Swim Team since 2013.  She is a 2009 graduate of SPX. She was a member of the Lions Girls' second place finish at State her senior year. Heather is a recent graduate from East Carolina University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Health Education and a minor in Psychology. Heather swam competitively for 15 years with Swim Atlanta and competed on an athletic scholarship all four years while studying at East Carolina University. (Contact Coach O'Toole)

MARLA OESTERLE, ASSISTANT SWIMMING COACH
Coach Oesterle has been with the team since 2015. She is a 2011 graduate of SPX and was a part of several State lineups, including the State Runner-Up team in 2009. She attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. Coach Oesterle swam competitively at Dynamo Swim Club for eight years and is very passionate about the sport. (Contact Coach Oesterle)

ALI ASIP, ASSISTANT DIVING COACH
Coach Asip is a proud graduate of St. Pius X class of 2011. She attended college at the University of Georgia and is currently studying to receive her Masters in Special Education at Georgia Southern University. She is a Kindergarten teacher at St. Jude currently. Coach Asip was a part of the diving program throughout her high school career and is happy to be able to give back through coaching in 2015 and now 2016. She coaches Competition Cheerleading for St. Pius X in the fall and is looking forward to a successful season of diving this year! (Contact Coach Asip)
