St. Pius X Endowment Fund
The St. Pius X Endowment serves as our long-term "savings account" for need-based scholarships, student and teacher enrichment, and unrestricted funds for the growing needs of St. Pius X. The St. Pius X Endowment is an invested pool of money that provides a reliable source of income, providing us with annual distributions to continue our work. All contributions are held in perpetuity and St. Pius X uses only annual earnings from these funds, leaving the principal intact. St. Pius X currently has funds invested with the Archdiocese of Atlanta as well as the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia. Together these funds total over $6,000,000. The St. Pius X Endowment grows yearly as donors continue to invest in the future of our school.
There are three general types of funds within the larger St. Pius X Endowment - scholarships, student and teacher enrichment, and unrestricted. Currently the Endowment is made up of nearly 70 individual funds including the school's general fund, which provides unrestricted support for the school.
St. Pius X requires a minimum principal amount of $25,000 to establish a named fund, generally providing at least $1,000 in funding each year, as long as the corpus does not drop below $25,000. A named endowment at St. Pius X can be established or contributed to in the following ways:
1. Make a gift of $25,000 or more to establish an endowed fund.
2. Make a commitment of $25,000 or more to establish an endowed fund with an initial payment of $5,000, and future payments arranged between the donor and the school. The fund may be named by the donor, but it cannot be awarded until the commitment is paid in full.
3. Contribute to an already established fund.
The three types of named funds that one might establish include need-based scholarships, student and teacher enrichment scholarships, and unrestricted funding. Need-based scholarships provide qualified St. Pius X students with tuition assistance. Student and Teacher Enrichment scholarships provide opportunities for personal and professional development. And finally, a fund can be established to provide unrestricted support to St. Pius X, allowing the school to identify its greatest need.
