St. Pius X Golden Lions
Ryan McClay, Head Boys Cross Country Coach
Coach McClay is entering his 9th year of coaching at St. Pius X. He has coached the boys to 6 state cross-country titles and 1 state runner up in eight years. He is also the head boys and girls track coach where he has led the boys to 2 state track titles and the girls to 1 state track runner up. He graduated from Dacula High School after running cross country for three years and track for two under Andy Christie. He then went on to run at the collegiate level for Berry College. While at Berry he raced in 7 National Championship races in Cross Country and track. He is married to Katie McClay and together they both continue to run races ranging from 5k to the marathon. They have a son, Ashton McClay who was born the day of the first cross country race in 2015.
Kirk Miller, Assistant Boys Cross Country Coach
Coach Miller is entering his 14th year of coaching at St. Pius X. He has won 10 state titles in cross country and track while at St. Pius X. He graduated from The Westminster Schools in Atlanta where he ran cross country and track for four years under Coach Tribble. He went on to compete at the collegiate level as a Georgia Bulldog where he specialized in the 800m and the steeplechase. Previously, Coach Miller worked with the athletes at Westminster where he won two other state titles. Coach Miller and his wife, Rebecca, have one daughter, Sarah.

Katie McClay, Assistant Boys Cross Country Coach
Coach Katie returns to the cross country team this fall for her 2nd year. She is an avid runner who enjoys keeping up with her husband, Ryan McClay. Together they have a back lab and a two year old son. She races distances from the 5k all the way to the marathon. In addition to coaching Cross Country, she also coaches track in the spring. She currently is the PE teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary and is a guest advocate at Big Peach Running Company. In her spare time she swims, studies running, and cooks healthy foods.
