Congratulations to the Golden Lions playing at the next level. Below are recent St. Pius X graduates who are continuing to play baseball at the college or professional level.

Kennet Sorenson ‘17 is a C/OF at the University of Nebraska.

Preston Jenkins '17 is a Pitcher for Birmingham Southern 

Garrett Gooden ‘16 is a Pitcher for Georgia Tech. During the 2017 summer, Garrett played for the Green Bay Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League and the Lexington Blowfish of the Coastal Plain League.

Chris McNulty ‘16 is a 1B/DH for Sewanee: The University of the South.

Sam Czabala ‘15 is a pitcher for Xavier University. He has been named to the Big East All-Academic Team twice (2016 & 2017). During the summer of 2016, Sam played for the Riverhead Tomcats of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League.

Will Herman ‘15 is a 2B/P for Appalachian State University.

Nick Spear ‘15 is a relief pitcher for Mercer University. During the summertime, he played for the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (2016) and Edenton Steamers of the Coastal Plain League (2017).

Grant Williams ‘14 plays 2B for Kennesaw State University. He was named First Team All-Conference (Atlantic Sun Conference) in 2017. Grant has been busy each summer playing in different collegiate wooden bat leagues: Brookhaven Bucks of the Sunbelt League (2014), Lima Locos of the Great Lakes League (2015), Ocean State Waves of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (2016) and Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod League (2017).

Peter Zyla ‘14 is an OF/C at Duke University. During the summer of 2016, Peter played for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League.

Quincy Nieporte ‘13 plays 1B in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He played baseball for Tallahassee Community College (2014) and Florida State (2015-17) before being selected in the 2017 MLB draft. In 2017, Quincy was named ABCA Third Team All-American.
