Youth Honor Band

Join the St. Pius X Catholic High School

2017-18 Youth Honor Band!

What is it?

SPX Youth Honor Band is a special collective group of young band musicians who come together once a week to read music and perform from January to March. Students are welcome from all area feeder middle schools. The group is led by St Pius X Catholic High School band director Mr. Chad Paetznick and Mr. Ian Labreck.

Why should my child join?

This is an excellent way for your student musician to be engaged extra hours in band and improve musicianship. Many middle school bands only meet once or twice a week. This gives those students an opportunity to get more hours and be further engaged in band performance. Members will also have a chance to meet new friends who are band students from different schools, and gain exposure to the St. Pius X Catholic High School community.

Who can join?

Any 6th through 8th grader who has had two years or more of band instruction (including the present school year).

When and where is it held?

Wednesday afternoon rehearsals, January through End of March at the St. Pius X Catholic High School band room. Drop-off at 3:45pm, Rehearsal from 4pm to 5pm.

*Concert is Thursday April 19th at 7pm at St Pius.

You must be able to attend all or most rehearsals since it is only once a week, and the concert April 19th.

Email Mr Paetznick at cpaetznick@spx.org or Mr Labreck at ilabreck@spx.org if you have questions.
