Wrestling Squad Participates in 9/11 Event
September 12th, 2011

Several members of the wrestling team at St. Pius X Catholic High School particpated in the Dunwoody-Manhattan Twenty-Six Story Memorial Stair Climb on Saturday, Sept. 10 at The Manhattan Condominiums in Dunwoody. The event was in memory of the 343 firefighters and 60 police officers that lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001.

“One of my goals for our wrestling program this year is to participate in a meaningful, charitable event as a team. I want this year to be special and memorable, not only with success in competition, but because we live out the mission of our school and Catholic faith in a tangible way. Commemorating the tenth anniversary of September 11th together as a team is our way of honoring the memory of the victims and the heroic service of the first responders,” said head wrestling coach David Sabino.

Members of the team that participated were Steven Mann, Frank Lentini, Brian Lentini, Joe Twiner, Nick Twiner, John Garner, Dalton Scoggins, Robbie Martin, Ryan Holmes, Connor Laubenthal, Harris Woodward, Ty Mascara, Quinn Peragine, Nicholas Glass, Eamon Quinn, Cole Waldron, Brian Rainwater, Conor Croft, Colin Taylor, Patrick Taylor and Ben Cogburn.
