St. Pius X Announces National AP Scholars

St. Pius X has received notification that 11 members of the Class of 2013 have been recognized as National Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars by the College Board. National AP Scholars are those students in the United States who receive an average score of at least four on all AP exams taken, and scores of four or higher on eight or more of these exams.

The St. Pius X students recognized were: Phineas Andrews, Cavan Hayes, Calvin Jackson, Aneek James, Barbara Anne Kozee, Stephen Landry, Catherine O’Neill, Matthew Pearson, Quinn Peragine, David Spratte and Calvin Tirrell.

In addition to these students, 65 students were named AP Scholars with Distinction. In order to receive an AP Scholar with Distinction designation those students must have scored at least a 3.5 average on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five exams.

Over 400 candidates took 838 AP exams in the 2012-13 school year at St. Pius X. The 11 selected as National AP Scholars took a total of 104 exams and averaged a 4.67 out of 5.
