St. Pius X Announces Academic Achievements

St. Pius X Catholic High School is pleased to announce recent recipients of academic accolades. These include students named Commended Students in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. In addition, two students were named Outstanding Participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

The National Merit Scholarship Program provides opportunities for scholarships to outstanding students throughout the country who succeed in their studies and perform with excellence on the PSAT examination. Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

The students recognized as Commended Students from St. Pius X are: Jordan Allums, Madison Allums, Christopher Cardillo, Joshua Chatfield, Patrick Doyle, Joseph Ferrugia, Katelyn Hambrick, Alexis Harrell, Geoffrey Harrison, Kevin Jones, Stephen Koenig, David Logan, Madison Mischik, David Schnelle, Maureen Sheeran, Janet Tanzy, Nicholas Twiner, Amanda Vocelka and Katherine Vocelka.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program recognizes African-Americans that have shown academic promise for the Achievement Scholarship awards. These students scored in the top three percent of more than 160,000 participants who requested consideration. Johnathan Handy and Amber Thomas were the two St. Pius X students that were chosen as Outstanding Participants.
