Billy is starting his first year coaching at St Pius X. As a class of 1985 alumni, Billy was fortunate to have played several years for legendary coach George B. Maloof. After graduating from St. Pius X Billy went on to play football at Presbyterian College where he lettered for three years as a wide receiver. Billy has coached football for ten years in the Gwinnett Football League at the Collins Hill Athletic Association. Additionally he has coached several years in lacrosse, baseball and basketball. His teams have consistently advanced through the playoffs and have won several Gwinnett County Championships in several sports. Beyond his coaching responsibilities, he has served on the Executive Board of the Collins Hill Athletic Association for eight years as the President. He is celebrating his 20th year of marriage this November to his wife Wendy and they have two sons, Reed (SPX ë16) and Connor (St John Neumann 8th grade).

Coach Benjamin (SPX 1980) played football under Coach George B. Maloof, was a team mate of Coach Paul Standard, and also lettered in Basketball. Coach Benjamin begins his sixth year at St. Pius as a community coach. He graduated from Duke University with a BA and the University of Minnesota with a JD/MA. Coach Benjamin has worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since 1989. Christopher coached youth football and baseball in the Sandtown Youth Sports Association in SW Atlanta for 8 years. Christopher and his wife Judy have two children, Chris (16) an 11th grader at SPX and Alexandra (12) an 8th grader at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School.

Coach Thomas begins his 5th year coaching middle school football at SPX. As a student at Bishop Moore High School in Orland, Florida, Coach Thomas played football, basketball and baseball and was the football team captain team while playing both ways at quarterback and defensive back. He was selected as the Central Florida Player of the Week during the season, and the teamís MVP. Coach Thomas has more than 10 years of experience as general manager in "big box" retail with companies such as The Home Depot, Target, PGA Tour Super Store and currently at Dick's Sporting Goods in Norcross. He is married to his wife Gwen of 26 years. The have 3 children, Brian, 22 (SPX 2007), Tori, 19 (SPX 2011) and Austin, 16 (SPX 2017).

Coach Whitlark begins his 7th year with the Golden Lions football program. An All State Linebacker, Kevin graduated from Cardinal Newman Catholic High School and went on to play college football. As the youngest of thirteen, four of his nine brothers played college football, Kevin started attending high school football practices from the time he could walk. A Water boy, go get it boy, manager and finally player. He witnessed football drills at a staggering number and attended almost every varsity football game his brothers played. He and his wife Lisa are the proud parents of six children: Erin (SPX 2013), Forrest (SPX 2015), Kate (SPX 2016), Mary Grace (8th grade), Anna Elizabeth (6th grade), and Liam (3rd grade). Coach Whitlark is an accomplished writer and illustrator.

Coach Klinger returns for his third season with the Golden Lions 8th grade football team. He is a native of Atlanta and graduated from Druid Hills High School. Stan received a scholarship to play football in the Southern Conference at Davidson College. He was a four year starter on the football team and also lettered in wrestling and track at Davidson. He was later inducted into the Druid Hills High School Hall of Fame for his accomplishments. Prior to coaching at St. Pius X, he coached Division I Travel Football for the Atlanta Colts where his teams reached the championship in three of his last four seasons, winning back-to-back North Metro Football League Championships in 2009 and 2010. In five seasons as Head Coach, Stanís Team amassed a record of 40-14, culminating in 2010 perfect 10-0 season. Coach Klinger is a trial lawyer and lives in Atlanta with his wife Eve and 3 children, Amanda (SPX 2010), Grayson (SPX 2013) and Ransom (SPX 2016).

Coach Echols (SPX 2005) returns for his second year as a middle school assistant. As a studentathlete at St. Pius X, Coach Echols was a two-year starter, earned honorable mention for the AAAA All-State team, named All-DeKalb County, and played in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star game. During his senior year he also earned both DeKalb County TD Club and North Fulton TD Club ìPlayer of the Monthî awards. For his career at St. Pius X he had 153 tackles, 7 interceptions and 4 defensive touchdowns while also rushing for 1,230 yards and scoring 15 TDs. He is the son of Tony and Sandra Echols.

Coach Finnerty returns for his second season coaching the Golden Lions. He was a three year starter at St. Pius under Coach Standard. As a senior he earned GACA First Team All-State, Atlanta Touchdown Club All-Area, and Fulton County All-County recognitions as a defensive tackle (69 tackles, 6 sacks, 14 tackles for a loss, blocked 3 punts, and a field goal). Coach Finnerty received a full athletic scholarship to Appalachian State University where he won 3 consecutive National Championships and 5 consecutive Southern Conference Championships. He is currently studying Sports Psychology in graduate school at Georgia State.

Coach Gee (SPX 2010) returns to his alma mater, where he played basketball and football for four years. A first-team All-State defensive back, Coach Gee went on to play safety in college and graduate from Cornell University. This season will be Brianís first as a coach, but he is very excited about the opportunity to work with the players and continue to pass down the priceless lessons he learned from Coach Standard and the rest of his current and former staff. Brianís younger brother Tyler Gee (SPX 2013), currently plays basketball at Rhodes College.

This is Coach Lucadoís fifth year coaching football at St Pius X. Coach Lucado was raised in Greensboro, NC and graduated from Guilford College. He is a Senior Manager of Account Development for American Express, where he has worked for the past 19 years. Phil has experience coaching youth sports in baseball, soccer, and basketball (6 seasons at St. John Neumann School) in addition to St. Pius football. When he is not coaching, working, or performing his husband and fatherly duties, Phil volunteers at St. Lawrence and tries to play golf. Coach Lucado has been married to his beautiful wife Ann for 21 years. They are proud parents of Will (SPX 2017).
