Mothers' Prayer Group

The Mothers’ Prayer Group provides unified prayer support for the students, faculty, and staff of St. Pius X High School. Moms, dads, and friends of St. Pius gather once a month to say the Rosary and pray for the specific and general intentions of the school community. The Prayer Group also provides an opportunity for parents to get to know each other in an informal, small-group setting.

Every gathering begins at 9:00 am with Mass in the Chapel, after which we move to Donnellan for continued prayer. The session usually concludes around 11:00 or 11:30, depending on how many intentions we have been asked to pray for. We encourage attendance even by parents who may not be able to stay the whole time.

We generally meet on the third Wednesday of each month, with a few alterations due to holidays. Here is the schedule (all dates are Wednesdays):

September 19

October 17

November 14

December 19 (followed by Christmas brunch in Donnellan)

January 16

February 20

March 12

April 16

May 14 (followed by year-end brunch in Donnellan)

Please call Marta Duran (404.636.9410), Jane Robbins (770.493.7692), or Sharon Schultz (770.304.2223) with questions. We look forward to seeing you!

Adoration – The Prayer Group also coordinates Adoration in the Chapel every Friday that school is in session. Marta Duran (404.636.9410) will be scheduling guardians for one-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. Please call her if you’re able to serve as a guardian, or to help her make weekly reminder phone calls. You may also sign up at the Mothers’ Club meeting in September.

Mothers’ Retreat – We help coordinate the Mothers’ Retreat, scheduled for late winter. Sherry Johnson (770.979.7619) and Shayla Rumely (404.264.1061) are in charge, so expect to hear more from them as the Retreat draws nearer. They welcome all volunteers.

“. . . in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Philippians 4:6

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20
