Government Resources

Campaigns and Elections  provides detailed information on elected officials, voting records, major issues, and candidates for the upcoming elections. You can also read the latest political news stories from a variety of sources.

Fed World is the gateway to all U.S. government web sites.

Supreme Court Decisions archives all decisions back to 1990; keeps a court calendar; schedule of oral arguments; biographical info on the current justices; most significant 600 historic decisions; and more. The site to begin researching U.S. Supreme Court information.

Thomas Access the full text of bills from the current Congress back through the 101st. Search the daily Congressional Record for terms, then read the full text of relevant proceedings and proposed legislation. Or enter the name of a particular legislator and access his or her voting record. Also has the roll call votes of the House and Senate from the 101st Congress to date.

U.S. Government Printing Office The Federal Register, Congressional Record, Congressional Bills and other Federal Government information are available at this site.

Ancient World Cultures Contains excellent information about eight cultures: the Near East, India, Egypt, China, Greece, the Roman Empire, the Islamic World, and Medieval Europe.

Art Gallery  The resources provided in this section will help you locate the best background information and images on periods and movements available on the web.

The Avalon Project This is an on-going collection of documents "relevant to the fields of Law, History, Economics, Politics, Diplomacy and Government." The documents are categorized by century, although there is also an Alphabetic Author/Title List of all the Project Documents. They're international in nature and go back to Ancient Greece.

Holocaust Resources

HyperHistory Online  A good place to start basic historical research.  One can access information on the people and events from nearly 3,000 years of history.

The Online Intelligence Project   This site links to international news, commerce, and reference resources on the WWW. Various sections also link to familiar US/UN resources such as the State/Defense Departments, World Bank, etc.

The Wars for Viet Nam: 1945 to 1975 This site offers students an opportunity to examine primary sources from the war. Good overview of the war and an annotated list of links to all aspects of Vietnam and the war.
