Now
that you've looked at Bruegel's painting of the fall of Icarus,
your assignment is to choose a painting from the artchive.com
Web site.
- Search under the
art style headings on the main page to get you started (Romaniticism,
Renaissance, Moderism, Cubist, etc.).
- Find a painting
that you like and inspires you.
- Study the painting
(just like we did in the viewing room).
- Use the toolbar
across the top to enlarge and zoom in on a particular section.
- After studying the
painting, write a poem about it. There are no rules, except that
it has to show effort and connect to the poem. Think about how
different Auden's poem was from Williams'.
- Check your poetry
calendar for the due date.
PLEASE
NOTE! You need to print a thumbnail sketch of the painting
you use to attach to the poem. You may do this from the Artchive
site, or from google.
AND YOU MUST CITE
THE SOURCE OF YOUR PAINTING!!! Here's how:
