Mr. Cook has served on the St. Pius X faculty as a social studies teacher since August of 1997. During this time, he has taught all levels of students in a variety of disciplines ranging from Geography, Ancient Civilization, World History, United States History, and Introduction to Economics to Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. His other duties at St. Pius X have included curriculum development and review for the Social Studies Department, participating on multiple committees during two school-wide SACS accreditation reviews, serving as the school's liaison to the Georgia Council on Economic Education, and dabbling in the technical upkeep of the Social Studies website.

 

Mr. Cook, affectionately referred to as the “Czar of Economics” by his Advanced Placement students, earned his Bachelor of Science in Education with a Social Studies Certification from the University of Georgia in the Spring of 1996. Once outside Athens , Mr. Cook's teaching experiences took him briefly to Morgan County High School in Madison and Harrison High School in Cobb County before settling in at St. Pius X.

 

Mr. Cook is a native Californian who enjoys a number of hobbies and interests which include golf, tennis, travel, landscape architecture, history, and, of course, all things Disney. He is married to his college sweetheart from UGA, the former Darshananda House. They have a 3-year old son, Shaun, and a newborn daughter, Erin Jeanette.
