Mr. Turner has been a St. Pius X Social Studies Department Member since 1993. Over the years, he has taught Government, World History, and American History. Currently he is teaching Government, American History, and AP World History.

 

Mr. Turner graduated from the University of West Georgia in 1971 with a double major in History and Anthropology and in 1974 received his teaching certificate from the University of Georgia . After serving three years on active duty in the United States Army (1977-1980), he completed his Masters of Education in Social Studies and later his Educational Specialist Degree in Social Studies at the University of West Georgia .

 

Mr. Turner's teaching experiences have taken him to Forest Park Junior High School, North Clayton High School, Riverdale High School, Woodward Academy, Crestwood High School, and Mount Vernon Christian Academy.

 

Mr. Turner is married to Sherry Russell Turner.  His extracurricular interests range from following college sports, reading history and fiction, gardening, travel, and working out to chasing his three hounds, Zeke, Emma Lou, and Jake.
