A 2001 graduate of St. Pius, Ms. Alison Bruckert returns to join the St. Pius X Social Studies Department as a teacher of AP Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and World History. In addition to teaching, Ms. Bruckert will be coaching the Varsity Basketball Cheerleading Squad.

Ms. Bruckert spent her undergraduate career in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2005 with degrees in K-8 Education and Child Developmental Studies. She also obtained endorsements in both Middle Grades Social Science and PK-6 Reading. She continued her education at The University of Georgia where she obtained her Master's of Education degrees in Social Science Education and Gifted Education. While in school, Ms. Bruckert managed Walker's Pub in Athens, GA.

In August 2006, immediately after finishing graduate school, Ms. Bruckert began her teaching career at Holsenbeck Elementary in the Barrow County School System. She taught third grade and gifted segments for two years and coached Junior Varsity Football Cheerleading at Winder-Barrow High School. In addition, Ms. Bruckert was an active member of The Foundation for Excellent Schools and a two year recipient of the Who's Who Among American Teachers award. Although she loved teaching elementary school, Ms. Bruckert is looking forward to making the move into a high school community.

In addition to teaching, Ms. Bruckert enjoys working out - running, dancing, and playing tennis. She is the Recruitment and Chapter Relations Advisor for Alpha Omicron Pi at The University of Georgia and is a huge UGA football fan – Go Dawgs!
