All-Time Honor Roll
To all alumni and friends of St. Pius:

This list exists to honor track and field at St. Pius and the people who have made it great. To all of you included here, we congratulate you.

Mike Anderson, '75 - School record holder, and a subsequent hurdles record holder at Georgia Tech, in 110 m. hurdles and a St. Pius dad from '99 - '03.

Paul Angelich, '77 - Broke his brother, Tom's, high jump school record and has held it ever since. State champion in his junior year and runner-up as a senior. Paul's niece (Tom's daughter), Jennifer, '07, is now a Golden Lion Trackster.

David Beavin, '68 - Held school pole-vault record for thirty-three years before it was broken by Patrick O'Reilly in '04. Dave is one of the all-time great people associated with our school.

Sarah Blanton, '99 - State champion in shot put and discus throw senior year and school record holder in both.

Julia Brys, '94 - One time school record holder in 1600 and 3200 m. runs and member of school record holding 4 x 1600 and 4 x 3200 m. relay teams. Even though all of her records have since been broken, Julia was the consummate leader among her teammates and a virtual assistant coach.

Kristin Budz Manning, '90 - Two-time state champion and school record holder in high jump.

Cornelius Camp, '98 - Holds current "Fastest Man at St. Pius" designation. School record holder and state champion in 100 & 200m dashes.

Brian Coffield, '99 - Set school record in 800 m. run the last time he stepped on the track for the Golden Lions. Ran on the cross-country and track teams at Virginia Tech University.

Daniel Finnerty, '05 - Roared by previous school records in both shot put and discus as a senior. Region champion in both events and top overall, all class, performer at the '05 State meet in shot put. Atlanta Track Club All-Metro honoree for shot put.

Katie Gallagher, '04 - Voted by SPX coaches, all sports, as women's athlete of the year for class of '04. Member of school record breaking ('04) Distance Medley Relay team. Member of record holding 4 x 800 m. and DMR record holding teams at Jefferson Relays.

Kathryn Gerke, '04 - Outstanding women's performer in '03; state runner-up in 800 m. run. Member of school record breaking ('04) Distance Medley Relay team and member of record holding DMR and 4 x 800 m. Realy teams at Jefferson Relays.

Eileen Curry Moore, '85 - Once held school record in 3200 m. run and was a member of former school record holding 4 x 1600, 4 x 800, 4 x 400, and Distance Medley Relay teams.

Valerie Dorsey Lister, '79 - St. Pius' first super star in women's track. Still holds school record in 100 m. dash and is a member of school record holding 4 x 100 m. relay team.

Mike Farrell, '68 - Former school record holder in 1600 and 3200 m. runs and a St. Pius dad from '99 - '03.

Monica Fry Bunger, '85 - Once a member of school record holding 4 x 400, 4 x 800, 4 x 1600, and Sprint Medley and Distance Medley relay teams.

Mike Goode, '79 - St. Pius' next great distance runner after Ralph King. State champion in 1600 and 3200 m. runs his senior year.

Katie Griffin, '99 - State champion in 1600 m. run as a sophomore. USATF mile champion as a senior in the Georgia Dome. Member of school record holding 4 x 1600 and 4 x 3200 meter relay teams. Katie is currently on the cross-country and track teams at Georgia Tech.

Nancy Heter McAlduff, '85 - School record holder in 800 m. run; won a state championship in this event. Once held school 1600 m. record and as member of school record holding 4 x 1600, 4 x 800, 4 x 400, and Distance Medley relay teams.

Ralph King, '74 - "The Once and Future King" of St. Pius Track, Ralph still holds the state records in 1600 (4:05.3) and 3200 (8:52.5) meter runs. How about those times?

Ashley LaBudde, '98 - State champion in 1600 and 3200 m. runs, school record holder in both; member of school record 4 x 1600 and 4 x 3200 m. relay teams. Currently on cross-country and track teams at University of Alabama.

Brian LaBudde, '95 - Another 'hardest worker' designation by his coach. Region champion in 1600 and 3200 m. runs his senior year. One of the all-time great distance runners at St. Pius.

Kristen Mecerod, '05 - St. Pius' first outstanding women's pole vaulter and school record holder. Started vaulting when the event was still exhibition status; Jefferson Relays champion in ninth and tenth grade; two-time State meet competitor; Region champion as a senior and State runner-up.

John Meredith, '81 - Filled the distance void when Mike Goode graduated. State champion in 800 m. run his junior year. Coach says John was the hardest worker he'd ever seen at St. Pius.

Molly Mungovan, '01 - Great track team leader and point scorer. State runner-up in 3200 meter run her junior and senior years; region champion in senior year. Placed in state 1600 meter run senior year as well. Anchored a number of championship distance relay teams from sophomore through senior years. Furman University all-conference performer in track and cross-country.

Patrick O'Reilly, '05 - Broke a thirty-seven year old school record in pole vault and then kept breaking his own. Region Champion and State meet competitor twice; finished third in state as a senior. Recognized as Outstanding Male Athlete of the '05 senior class.

Dana Rogers, '01 - Holder of six school records. Scored thirty points in Y2K state track meet; state champion in long jump and 100 m. hurdles. Scored 20 points in '01 meet; state champion in long and triple jumps. Currently a big-time performer in track and field at Georgia Tech.

George Sattele, Coach (1971-85) - Put St. Pius track on the map. George was Ralph King's coach. Led tireless effort to upgrade track facilities that are named for him today. One of the all time most beloved teacher/coaches at St. Pius, George is memorialized today with the annual George Sattele Award which goes to a Golden Lion Trackster who exhibits the same good nature and dedication to St. Pius track that George did.

Bob Shell, '69 - St. Pius' first great sprinter. Former record holder in 100/200 dashes and member of former school record holding 4 x 100 relay team.

Darry Strickland, '87 - One of the best all around athletes ever at St. Pius. School record holder in 400 m. run and member of school record holding 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 m. relay teams.
