State Tournament Information!

Congratulations to the Lady Lions Fastpitch Softball team for sweeping their way into the state tournament this weekend in Columbus.  Consecutive victories over Cedartown, Stephens County, and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe secured the Lady Lions' second straight Elite 8 appearance.

Practices Begin: August 4, 2008
Blue vs. Gold World Series*: August 12 and August 13, 2008
Earliest Date for a Game: August 15, 2008
Region Tournament (Approx): October 6-11, 2008
State Sectionals Tournament: October 17-18, 2008
State Semifinals: October 23-24, 2008
State Finals: October 25, 2008

 

Please DO NOT schedule vacations during the softball season. From the first day of tryouts through the last game, players are expected to be present at all practices, games, meetings, and events. Please do not schedule appointments during practice time. Practices are held each day after school from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

2008 Region Alignment
The GHSA finalized the region alignments for 2008-2010. Region 5-AAA will be subdivided for softball. Teams will play each team in their subregion once. The top four finishers from each subregion will advance to the region tournament.
