Scott
Carter
HEAD COACH
Head Coach Scott Carter, from Bedford,
NY, and has been the head coach at St. Pius since the team began
in 2003. He played 4 years of varsity lacrosse at Byram Hills High
School where he was a 2 time all league player and the 1994 Captain
and M.V.P. He played his college lacrosse at Auburn University where
he was a 3 time captain and all Conference selection, 2 time offensive
M.V.P. and 1998 Player of the Year. Coach Carter also coached lacrosse
at Centennial High School for 4 years, 2 as an assistant and 2 as
Head Coach. He has been teaching and coaching at St. Pius X since
1999, where he teaches Social Studies, coaches football and is the
head Swim and Dive team coach. He still plays lacrosse for the Buckhead
Lacrosse Team.
JOHN CANTWELL
ASSISTANT COACH
Coach
Cantwell coaching Lacrosse and teaching science at St. Pius since
2004. After playing high school lacrosse he attended West Virginia
University , where he played offensive left tackle and played in
the Sugar Bowl in 1994. In 1996, Coach Cantwell played offensive
tackle on the Washington Redskins practice squad. He holds a Masters
Degree from State University of New York and earned his Coaching
Certification from Adirondack Community college .
MIKE O'BRIEN
ASSISTANT
COACH
Coach
O'Brien is began coaching at St. Pius in 2005. Coach O'Brien
grew up in Northern Virginia where he played for Bishop Ireton in
High School. He then continued his playing career at the United
States Military Academy at West Point. After Serving his nation
he has joined the coaching staff at St. Pius to work with the Attack.
He currently works for General Electric and still plays lacrosse
for the Buckead Lacrosse Team.
MIKE MCKAY
ASSISTANT COACH
Coach
McKay began with the Golden Lions Lacrosse team in 2006, but is
no Stranger to coaching or St. Pius. Coach mcKay's wife has
coached basketball at St. Pius for a number of years and he has
coached youth lacrosse in Atlanta. Coach McKay brings with
him his experience from playing Longstick defense for the Naval
Academy and a number of years playing Post Collegiate Club Ball.
He will be an important asset to the feared Lions Defense.
