Band Director - Chad Paetznick

Before becoming the band director at St. Pius
X, Mr. Paetznick was the Assistant Band Director for six years at
Paulding County High School in Dallas, Georgia. Previously, he taught
at Thomas Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio. Mr. Paetznick
has also instructed music camps for Pope High School, Fayette County
High School, Sprayberry High School, and South Cobb High School.
He also helps to organize the annual Archdiocesan Honor Band event
for middle school grades, and teaches percussion at the annual 'Spirit
Camp' which is a summer music camp organized by the original Spirit
of Atlanta Drum & Bugle corps staff.
Mr. Paetznick received a Bachelor's Degree
in Music Education from The Ohio State University. While at Ohio
State, he performed in the symphony orchestra, jazz band, symphonic
band, percussion ensemble, and athletic pep band. He also
was a member of the 1992 Star of Indiana Drum & Bugle Corps
(now known as "Blast!") which placed third overall and
second in percussion at the Drum Corps International World Championships.
Mr. Paetznick has also been an adjudicator for Drum Corps International
and several Atlanta area marching band contests. He is also an educational
endorser for Pro-Mark Drumsticks.
Mr. Paetznick graduated from Cooper
City High School (FL) where he was a member of the "Sound of
Pride" marching band. Paetznick was also a member of the Broward
County Honor Band and the Florida Wave Drum & Bugle Corps. His
birthplace is Canton, Ohio. His hobbies include playing percussion,
listening to music, and writing music. He and his wife have two
sons.
