A Strong FaithScience
Our motto at St. Pius X is "We Are the Lord's."

Our strength as a community is rooted in our Catholic faith, and we provide every opportunity possible to help students grow in theirs. Every class is started with a prayer. Mass is offered each morning at 7:20. Communion services are offered four times a day. Spiritual growth sets our school apart. It builds community. It provides outreach. It brings us back to why we are here: "We Are the Lord's."

College Preparation
St. Pius X Catholic High School has a rigorous college prep program which prepares students for the nation's most demanding universities. The semester system (which is currently used by the majority of the nation's colleges and high schools) is utilized by St. Pius X. Each semester is 18 weeks in length and the students receive progress reports at 6 and 12 week intervals. The schedule at St. Pius X provides the variety of an 8 period day in which a student selects 7 academic and elective courses.

The Right Classes for the Students
St. Pius X enrolls students with a wide variety of skills and abilities. As a result, most academic courses are taught on three levels: Honors (and A.P.), College Prep I and College Prep II. Students are not "tracked" and often take courses at different levels. Learn more about the Academics at St. Pius X here.

TEST Results
All freshmen, sophomore, and juniors take the PSAT in October.  Juniors and seniors take the SAT and ACT for college admissions.   Our students consistently score well above national averages on all of these tests.

National Merit Scholarship Program
St. Pius X had 37 seniors recognized in the 2005 National Merit Scholarship Program. Of that number, 6 were Merit Finalists, 25 were Commended Scholars, 3 were Achievement Scholars and 3 were Hispanic Scholars.

The Finest Faculty and Staff
St. Pius X employs 85 full time professional educators to work with its students. In addition to the instructional staff (teachers) St. Pius X has an extensive "support staff" which includes 4 counselors, 2 campus ministers, 2 learning specialists, 2 media specialists, a school nurse and 2 deans of students. Of the 85 educators, 55 have masters degree and 4 have Ph.D. degrees (giving two-thirds post graduate education). Learn more about our Faculty and Staff here.

Extracurricular Activities
DanceSt. Pius X encourages all students to "get involved" and the vast majority do. Approximately 73% of our students participate in athletics and 98% are involved in at least one extracurricular activity.

  • Athletics: St. Pius X is a member of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and competes with public and independent schools in 16 different sports (totaling 22 Varsity teams) at the AAAA level. Of these 16 sports, all have a Varsity team, many have Junior Varsity teams, and some have teams specifically for Freshmen. Learn more about the Golden Lions Athletics here.
  • Fine Arts: Students can express their creativity within the award winning St. Pius X Fine Arts program. Learn more about the St. Pius X Fine Arts here.
  • Student Organizations: With over 20 different organizations on campus, students can find friends and knowledge in clubs, student government, or social causes and issues. Learn more about some of the student organizations that exist at St. Pius X here.

Nearly 200 colleges over the past Three Years
St. Pius X's graduates are consistently accepted at public and private universities in the State of Georgia and countless colleges and universities throughout the United States. Learn more about college admissions preparation from our Guidance department here.

Reaching Out To Others
Every student at St. Pius X contributes some form of community service — from helping the homeless and building Habitat houses, to tutoring Vietnamese children to gathering prom dresses for those who cannot afford them. Freshmen and sophomores are required to complete 10 hours of community service; juniors and seniors, 20 hours. By the way, half of our students serve more than the minimum required hours. Learn more about our involvement in the community from our Campus Ministry department here.
