St. Pius X Participates in Doors to Homes and Hope Project
October 14th, 2014
Over 100 artists from throughout the state of Georgia have joined together to share their talents in the second annual Doors to Homes and Hope project in support of families in need. Executive Assistant to the Principal Mrs. Marsha Free and the St. Pius X Art Association Club are included among these artists.
The program was created not only to support Habitat for Humanity and the need for affordable housing, but also to increase awareness of the arts in the Gwinnett community. This is the first year that the Art Association participated in the outdoor art exhibit at the suggestion of Mrs. Free. Working alongside faculty moderator and visual arts teacher Ms. Corinna Brannon, the group painted their door, "Shadows" at the start of the school year.
The hand-painted doors are currently on display through the end of October in Norcross, Suwanee, Duluth, Lawrenceville, and Sugar Hill and are available for purchase. All proceeds raised from the program will benefit Gwinnett Habitat/ReStore and ArtWorks! Gwinnett. If you are interested in more information about this project, please click here.
