Cara Boggs / Senior

Cara has been involved with the sports med program at SPX but this is her first year serving on the football team. She has attended the UGA Sports Medicine camp the past two summers. She plans to major in Sports Medicine or nursing in college.

Abbie Heath / Senior

This is Abbie’s fourth year as a part of the St. Pius Sports Med Staff. Abbie has been active in several sports including volleyball and basketball. She is also a member of the SPX Girls’ Golf Team. She is an avid University of Georgia fan, and would like to eventually major in Sports Medicine. She attended the Sports Med Camp at UGA during the summer of 2010. Abbie is excited to be a part of the Sports Medicine program and is looking forward to learning more about physical health and sports training.

Akilah McLemore / Senior

This is Akilah’s third year participating in the Sport Med program, and has attended Georgia Tech’s Sports Medicine Camp during the summer of 2010. During her spare time, Akilah enjoys listening to music and spending time at sporting events. Although she hasn’t decided on a college yet, she would like to major in Accounting. Akilah is looking forward to being a part of the football training staff again this year.

Milly Mercer / Senior
This is Milly’s fourth year as a member of the Sports Med program. She has been involved in several sports, including basketball, swimming, and track. Although she has not chosen any particular college yet, Milly is interested in studying nursing. Milly attended the Georgia Tech Sports Medicine Camp in the summer of 2010.

Rachel Autrey / Junior
This is Rachel’s third year in the Sports Med program. Rachel loves any form of art, especially drawing. She also likes snow and water skiing, bike riding, rock climbing and high ropes courses. Her hobbies include art, reading, movies, friends, bike riding, music, lake sports (fishing, boating, skiing, swimming), and hanging out with Midnight, her border collie. She is interested in attending UNC-Chapel Hill, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. Although she has not decided on a major, she would like to combine art and engineering.

Abby Castro/ Junior
Abby is excited to be a part of the Sports Med program again this year. This will be Abby’s third year on the Training Staff. Abby also is a trainer for the baseball team in the spring. She attended the UGA Camp during the summer of 2010. She enjoys playing sports, dancing, friends, and travel. She loves being a part of the Sports Medicine program and hopes to pursue athletic training in college.

Grayson Holt/ Film Crew / Junior

This is Grayson’s second year being involved in the football team’s film crew. He is interested in free lance photography and film making. He would like to attend college either at NYU or Columbia College. He is looking forward to helping the team this season.

Frank Martin/ Film Crew / Junior

This will be Frank’s second year helping film the St. Pius Football team. His interests include cinematography and photography, and he is looking forward to the upcoming season.

Martin Powell/ Junior

This will be Martin’s second year as the St. Pius X Sports Reporter. Since he would eventually like a career as a journalist, his experience at St. Pius X will be invaluable. He would like to attend the University of Georgia, but is interested in other colleges, as well. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and rooting for the Dawgs!

Jennifer Richter / Sophomore Trainer

This is Jennifer’s second year in the Sports Medicine program. She attended the GA Tech Sports Med camp this summer. Her activities include softball, athletic training for basketball and is on an equestrian team. She hopes to one day attend the University of Georgia or University of Alabama and major in Veterinary Medicine or Athletic training. Jen is excited to be a part of the program and is looking forward to the football season.

Emily Jovert / Sophomore Trainer

This is Emily’s second year in the Sports Medicine program. She attended the UGA Sports Med camp this summer. Emily hopes to attend either Georgia Southern University or Clemson University and would like to major in Athletic Training or Physical Therapy. She is excited to be a part of the Sports Med Family and is looking forward to another great year. Emily is known by her friends as ‘EMS’.

Erin Sheppard/ Film Crew/ Sophomore

This is Erin’s first year in the Sports Medicine program. She is an avid photographer and looks forward to a great season as part of the team. In addition to having played on the JV basketball team, Erin is a talented equestrian.

Will Gillet/ Film Crew/ Sophomore

This is Will’s first year in the Sports Medicine program. He is working with the videographers and the photographers. In addition to Sports Med, Will participates in the Water Polo and Swim teams. Will is very excited about being involved with Sports Medicine this year.
