2010 -  Athletic Trainer Bio's

 Kristina Kina / Senior

Although this is Kristina’s first year involved with the football Sports Med program, she has been the girl’s basketball team trainer for several years. In the summer of 2009, Kristina attended the University of Georgia’s Sports Medicine camp, and will hopefully intern this summer at UGA in their Young Dawgs Program. Kristina would like to attend either Valdosta State or the University of Georgia, and she plans to major in Athletic Training with a minor in Physical Therapy. Her nickname is “Kina”, and she is excited for the 2010 season.





 Katie Reynolds / Senior

Katie has been involved with the SPX Sports Med program for four years. She has attended Sports Medicine camps at both Georgia Tech and at the University of Georgia. Besides being involved with the football program, Katie has also trained the JV Boys’ Lacrosse Team. Katie would like to attend a big football college, and is interested in attending the University of Alabama, the University of South Carolina, Tennessee or Ole Miss. She plans to major in Psychology, and would like to eventually attend Law School. Her favorite football memory is being on the sidelines with the players during the play-offs.

Catherine Rigdon / Senior

This is Catherine’s fifth year with the SPX Sports Med program. She has attended Sports med camps at both the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. Besides training football, Catherine has also been involved with the SPX Basketball program. Catherine is interested in attending UGA, Auburn, or Michigan, and would like to major in either Zoology or Marine Biology. Her nickname is “Cat”, and her favorite memory is of the team’s fantastic 12-1 record in 2009.

 

Sasha Sewell / Senior

This is Sasha’s third year being a part of the SPX Sports Med program. She has attended the University of Georgia’s Sports Med camp in Athens. Sasha enjoys dancing, especially hip-hop and jazz, and is involved with dance programs outside of school. Sasha is interested in being a journalist, and would like to attend Tulane. Sasha’s brother played football for the Golden Lions, so she is excited to also be a part of the team.

 

 

Abbie Heath / Junior

This is Abbie’s third year as a part of the St. Pius Sports Med Staff. Abbie has been active in several sports including volleyball and basketball. She is also a member of the SPX Girls’ Golf Team. She is an avid University of Georgia fan, and would like to eventually major in Sports Medicine. Abbie is excited to be a part of the Sports Medicine program and is looking forward to learning more about physical health and sports training.


 

Akilah McLemore / Junior

This is Akilah’s second year participating in the Sport Med program, and she plans to attend Georgia Tech’s Sports Medicine Camp during the summer of 2010. During her spare time, Akilah enjoys listening to music and spending time at sporting events. Although she hasn’t decided on a college yet, she would like to major in Accounting. Akilah is looking forward to being a part of the football training staff again this year.

 


Milly Mercer / Junior

This is Milly’s third year as a member of the Sports Med program. She has been involved in several sports, including basketball, swimming, and track.
Although she has not chosen any particular college yet, Milly is interested in studying nursing. Milly will be attending the Georgia Tech Sports Medicine Camp in the summer of 2010.

 

 

Rachel Autrey / Sophomore

This is Rachel’s second year in the Sports Med program. Rachel loves any form of art, especially drawing. She also likes snow and water skiing, bike riding, rock climbing and high ropes courses. Her hobbies include art, reading, movies, friends, bike riding, music, lake sports (fishing, boating, skiing, swimming), and hanging out with Midnight, her border collie. She is interested in attending UNC-Chapel Hill, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. Although she has not decided on a major, she would like to combine art and engineering.


Amanda Cameron / Sophomore

This is Amanda’s second year in the Sports Med program. She enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and exercising. Although Amanda is not sure where she would like to attend college, she plans to focus on the medical field and hopes to be a doctor one day. She is excited to train the varsity and JV football teams this year.


 

 

Abby Castro / Sophomore

Abby is excited to be a part of the Sports Med program again this year. She enjoys playing sports, dancing, and shopping. While at SPX, Abby plans to get involved with different activities, including the track and drama programs. She loves being a part of the Sports Medicine program and hopes to pursue athletic training in college.

 


Dennis Walton / Manager / Senior

Dennis has been involved with the SPX Sports Med program for four years and has previously videotaped all the practices and games for the football team. Dennis has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is also active in Holy Cross Church’s Boy Scouts and Youth Group.He would like to attend the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, Georgia College and State University, Penn State, or Appalachian State, and would like to study Marine Biology and Oceanography. His nickname is D-W, and he loves football… Go Lions!




 

 

Grayson Holt / Film / Sophomore

This is Grayson’s first year being involved in the football team’s film crew. He enjoys film and photography, and would like to attend college either at NYU or Columbia College. He is looking forward to helping the team this season.

 


Frank Martin / Film / Sophomore

This will be Frank’s first year helping film the St. Pius Football team. His interests include video editing and photography, and he is looking forward to the upcoming season.

 

 



Martin Powell / Reporter / Sophomore

This will be Martin’s first year as the St. Pius X Sports Reporter. Since he would eventually like a career as a journalist, his experience at St. Pius X will be invaluable. He would like to attend the University of Georgia, but is interested in other colleges, as well. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and rooting for the Dawgs!
