Mothers' Club 2016 Dresden Christmas Project

Christmas 2016 marks the tenth consecutive year that the St. Pius X family will be working to make Christmas brighter for many Dresden Elementary School families. The main focus of the Dresden project is to provide the children with basic essentials and clothing.  This is the type of project that exemplifies the spirit of St. Pius X: coming together and giving from the heart to help others.

How can you help?

Donate Gifts - You can either sponsor a child or several children or you can purchase a specific gift.
Make a Monetary Donation - These donations are used to purchase “fill in” items at the last minute and to purchase grocery gift cards for the families.
Volunteer - We also need help with sorting (Parents only), wrapping (Parents and SPX students), or manning the pick-up booth (Parents with larger SUVs to provide transportation if necessary and SPX students to greet and load vehicles).

What does sponsoring a child entail?

Our goal would be for each child to receive two school uniforms, a winter coat, three inexpensive toys and a $20-25 gift card (WalMart or Payless) for shoes.
Clothing is the greatest need and the items should be moderately priced. Some shoppers may also purchase a few extras such as hats and gloves, pajamas, undergarments and socks, but those are optional.
School uniforms do not need to be purchased from a uniform store (JC Penney, WalMart, Target, etc. are all good options). All of the Dresden (grades K-5th) children are in need of school uniforms. The uniforms consist of: Pants (navy blue or khaki), Shirts-short or long sleeve polo, turtleneck or oxford or (white or red), Skirts or jumpers for the girls (navy blue or khaki). Can my SPX student get a Works of Mercy?

Students will ONLY receive works of mercy credit if they come to school to help with the SPX Mother's Club sponsored wrapping or distribution session.
