Trey Broussard, Head Junior Varsity Coach
Coach Broussard (SPX ’01) returns for his third season with the Golden Lions softball program. He has worked as a member of the English department at St. Pius X for the past 10 years teaching freshmen, juniors, and seniors. During that time he has been involved in a number of activities including but not limited to: chaperoning mission trips to Jamaica; moderator for the freshman class; serving on the advisory board for the Lion Leader program; facilitating A/V needs for tech crew; and serving as a moderator on the Honor Council. This will be his second season coaching softball at St. Pius X; his extensive baseball background and overall love for the game led him to want to pursue coaching JV softball. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Valdosta State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. He and his wife, Dr. Meredith Miller (counseling psychologist at St. Pius X), reside in Dunwoody and have two dogs, Maddux and Kingston.

Loren Southwick, Assistant Junior Varsity Coach
A retired Sales and Marketing Executive from the computer and data communications industries, Coach Southwick is now a substitute teacher at St. Pius X. A graduate of the University of South Florida, he also attended Georgia Tech for his undergrad studies and began graduate school at Georgia State University. Coach Southwick has over 45 years of playing experience in baseball and softball including 20 years of Men’s Open Fast Pitch. A multi-talented athlete, Loren ran cross country while attending Georgia Tech and also spent time with the Minnesota Twins organization. He is very excited about the opportunity to help with the team here at St. Pius X.
