Jenniffer M. Kapp, M.S., LPC
Director of Guidance & Counseling
Mrs. Kapp, MS, LPC, has worked at St. Pius X since 2002, and as Director of Guidance and Counseling since 2008. In addition to her current role, Mrs. Kapp has served the SPX community as head cheerleading coach (2002-2004) and dance assistant (2002-2003). She received her Bachelor of Arts from Winthrop University (Psychology major and Dance minor) and a Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in professional counseling. Outside of school, Mrs. Kapp works as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a private practice and teaches Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP).  Mrs. Kapp and her three sisters are all St. Pius X graduates. Mrs. Kapp lives in Dunwoody with her husband and two children. Email Mrs. Kapp.

Chuck Byrd, M.S.
Professional School Counselor

Chuck Byrd is a counselor and the Director of Admissions at St. Pius X. He is also the long-time coach of the very successful boys’ tennis team.  Mr. Byrd has three children (Roshan, Kristoff, Devin) who attended St. Pius. He is also the proud grandfather of 3 wonderful boys and a fantastic girl. All of them pray that they will someday get into St. Pius.  Mr. Byrd and his wife, Lynn, live in Berkeley Lake, GA. Lynn is a retired teacher of gifted children in Gwinnett County.  Mr. Byrd’s hobbies include travel, biking, sailing and teasing his grandkids. He can be reached at cbyrd@spx.org.


Meredith A. Miller, Ph.D., LPC, NCC
Professional School Counselor

Dr. Miller has been at St. Pius X since 2003. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education summa cum laude from University of Georgia. She taught English at both the middle and high school levels while pursuing her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology in April 2007. Specialty areas include women's issues, parenting education, and eating disorders. Her passions also include canine-assisted therapy and companion animal rescue and rehabilitation. She also coaches Varsity cheerleading, chaperones international mission trips, and teaches Systematic Training for Effective Parenting at St. Pius and in the local community. Deborah (Debie) Navin, MSW
Professional School Counselor
This is Mrs. Navin's sixth year at St. Pius. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio , Texas . She has been married to a career Army officer for 27 years and has had a variety of experiences in the field of social work. Mrs. Navin began her career in Nurenburg, West Germany, as part of the outpatient children's psychiatric team at Nurenburg Army Hospital.  She has also worked as a school social worker for the DODS school system in South Korea, providing services to students in Seoul, Ossan, and Pusan, South Korea.  She has also worked as a high school counselor in the public school system in Kaneohe, Hawaii.  Having retired to the Atlanta area, Mrs. Navin is looking forward to “putting roots” down in one place. Mrs. Navin has one son, Sean, who recently graduated from West Point and is assigned to 2/27 Infantry Division. Email Mrs. Navin.

Jane Gennaro Udell
Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Udell has been at St. Pius X since 2001.  She is a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Business School in New York. Mrs. Udell lives in East Cobb with her husband, Ed, and is the proud parent of: Chris '03, Matt '05, Patrick '09, and Joanna '11 (Thompson). Email Mrs. Udell.
