Jenniffer Kapp, M.S., LPC
Director of Guidance & Counseling
Mrs. Kapp, MS, LPC, has worked at St. Pius X since 2002, and as Director of Guidance and Counseling since 2008. In addition to her current role, Mrs. Kapp has served the SPX community as head cheerleading coach (2002-2004) and dance assistant (2002-2003). She received her Bachelor of Arts from Winthrop University (Psychology major and Dance minor) and a Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in professional counseling. Outside of school, Mrs. Kapp works as a Licensed Professional Counselor in a private practice and teaches Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP). Mrs. Kapp and her three sisters are all St. Pius X graduates. Mrs. Kapp lives in Dunwoody with her husband and two children.
Chuck Byrd, M.S.
School Counselor
Chuck Byrd is Director of Admissions and works with juniors and seniors in the college process. He is also the coach of the St. Pius X Boys' Tennis Team. Chuck has worked at St. Pius X for many years. His daughter, Roshan, graduated in 1995 from St. Pius X and is now an elementary school counselor in Gwinnett County. His older son, Kristoff, attended St. Pius X and graduated from Georgia Tech. His other son, Devin, is a 2003 graduate of St. Pius X who now attends Georgia College and State University. Chuck's wife, Lynn, is a teacher of gifted students in Gwinnett County. Chuck's interests include travel, biking and sailing.
Meredith A. Miller, Ph.D., LPC, NCC
Professional School Counselor
This is Meredith's sixth year at St. Pius X. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education summa cum laude from University of Georgia. She taught English at both the middle and high school levels while pursuing her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology in April 2007. Her specialty areas include women's issues, parenting education, and eating disorders. Her passions also include volunteering for animal rescue and adoption, football, and public speaking. She also coaches JV cheerleading and teaches Systematic Training for Effective Parenting at St. Pius and in the local community. Meredith lives in Atlanta with her two dogs.
Deborah Navin, MSW
School Counselor
This is Debie's fifth year at St. Pius. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and earned her Masters of Social Work degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio , Texas . She has been married to a career Army officer for 27 years and has had a variety of experiences in the field of social work. Debie began her career in Nurenburg, West Germany, as part of the outpatient children's psychiatriac team at Nurenburg Army Hospital. She has also worked as a school social worker for the DODS school system in South Korea, providing services to students in Seoul, Ossan, and Pusan, South Korea. She has also worked as a high school counselor in the public school system in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Having retired to the Atlanta area, Debie is looking forward to “putting roots” down in one place. Debie has one son, Sean, who recently graduated from West Point and is assigned to 2/27 Infantry Division and is preparing to deploy to Iraq in October '08.
Mariane Kauh, M.A.
School Counselor
Mariane (St. Pius X class of '90) will be working in the Guidance & Counseling department as a part-time counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Stetson University and her Masters of Art degree from Marymount University. Upon graduation, Mariane worked for Langley High School in McLean, Virginia before moving back home to Georgia. This is Mariane's eighth year as a school counselor, having previously worked at Chattahoochee High School and Woodward Academy. Mariane currently lives in Decatur with her husband, John. During her spare time, Mariane enjoys working with her church youth group and spending time outdoors.
Jane Gennaro Udell
Guidance Secretary
Jane is a graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York. Jane is also the coach of the St. Pius X Girls' Tennis Team. She currently lives in East Cobb with her new husband, Ed, and is the proud parent of: Chris '03, Matt '05, Patrick '09, and Joanna '11.
