KYLE SNIPES HEAD VARSITY COACH
Kyle Snipes was named head coach in July, 2009, and is currently the Associate Communications Coordinator at St. Pius X. Snipes joins the Golden Lions after coaching stints with the women's basketball programs at Georgia Tech, UNC Wilmington and Georgia State. Prior to coaching women's basketball, Snipes spent 5 years on the men's side at Wake Forest and Erskine College. During his time at Wake, the Demon Deacons captured the 2000 National Invitation Tournament Championship. He has also mentored nine All-Conference players in his career. Snipes earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Wake Forest University, where he was a student manager with the men's basketball team which won the 1995 ACC Championship. He is also pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching at Liberty University. Snipes is a native of Hillsborough, NC and is married to the former Melissa Jenkins of Houston, TX. The couple has one daughter, Megan, who was born on August 5, 2009. Email Coach Snipes.
KATHY HAMBRICK ASSISTANT VARSITY COACH/HEAD JUNIOR VARSITY COACH
Kathy Hambrick was named head Junior Varsity coach in June 2009, after coaching the Lions AAU/YBOA 12U girls’ team at St. Pius X this spring. She joins the Golden Lions staff following a successful coaching career at Mt. Carmel Christian School in Stone Mountain, GA, where she compiled a 116-60 record over 9 years. She served as head coach for both boys and girls teams. She was also the athletic director and brings extensive game experience to our program. Throughout her career, she has emphasized teaching the basic fundamentals of the game. Hambrick and her husband, Greg, have three children, David, a freshman at LaGrange College, Jacob, a sophomore at St. Pius X and Katie, an 8th grader at Our Lady of the Assumption. A native of Granite Falls, NC, Hambrick is an Honors Graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College where she majored in Business Administration. Email: uthambricks@yahoo.com
