August 6th, 2015

Hundreds of Catholic football players prayed the Rosary together. Wednesday night it was in Atlanta at Saint Jude's Catholic Church. Players, coaches and managers from from St. Pius X, Holy Spirit and Blessed Trinity not only prayed the rosary together, they prayed for protection from injury, for their families and friends and for their competitors.

Right now, all of these schools are in the thick of training, doing two a days, two practices a day, so it was at the end of a long day of training that they donned matching green jerseys and went to church.

The national religious organization Sports Leader started this initiative. The goal is for archdioceses around the country to eventually take part in this before the season kicks off.
