NEW INFORMATION
MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL SPELLMAN
Please look for the appeal letters that have been mailed for the second solicitation of the 2010 Annual Fund. Because of the extraordinary fund raising schedule this year, many families have postponed or simply overlooked the schools most important fiscal fundraiser.
The other day a parent asked me, “I have already given to the Capital Campaign, joined the Athletic Association and SPAS, why is this so important?” The answer is that the Annual Fund is the primary vehicle to fund the $627 per student deficit in tuition vs. the cost to educate. Furthermore, the Annual Fund numbers are the primary statistic corporations and foundations use to make determinations about the health and strength of school communities. And even more important than the amount of dollars raised in this effort is the parent participation percentage. Healthy school communities are deemed successful when they have participation numbers upwards of 75%. Many of our peer schools have participation numbers greater than this and some are closer to 90%. Currently we are facing a little less than a $200,000 shortfall in the 2010 Annual Fund with a participation percentage of 25%.
My appeal is simple. Please participate, because whatever your means are at the current time, whether you are able to join the Principals Guild (gifts up to $250), or become a Major Donor in the Monsignor Maloney Society (gifts of $1,000 to $2499), your gift counts! Your gift can be made by following this link to the St. Pius X Web site or you can send in your pledge envelope if you want to spread your payment over the next three months. I urge you to make you pledge by March 15.
St. Pius X is great because we all pull together to accomplish our goals. The Annual Fund affects every single student and family. Please act now to help us achieve this important goal for our school community. Domini Sumus!
Principal Steve Spellman

PARKING PERMITS 2010-2011
Attention parents of rising juniors and seniors! Many have begun to ask about parking permits for the 2010-2011 school year. Permit applications will be available around exam time in late May. Please note that nothing will be mailed home. Reminder announcements will be made during school hours and will be included in student e-mails. Applications will be sent to St. Pius X student e-mail accounts so that all students have the information at the same time. Turn-in priority will initially be given to rising senior applications and applications for juniors and seniors will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis until the maximum number of permits is reached. If you have questions, please contact the Dean of Students Office.
CHARTWELLS TO BEGIN SELLING BEEF IN CAFETERIA THIS WEEK
Attention Parents! St. Pius X received a letter from Chartwells on March 3, 2010, regarding the end to the national beef recall. Chartwells has confirmed that all of their products have been cleared as of last week. It is Chartwells’ intention to begin reselling beef products this week in our school cafeteria.
EDUCATIONAL OUTFITTERS TO SERVE SPX COMMUNITY

Educational Outfitters will offer the same St. Pius X uniform items as Buckhead Uniforms, with the exception of those items that must be purchased at the school Roar Store (polo shirts, overblouses, all outerwear and ties).
