SPX Sophomore Swims with Whale Sharks

St. Pius X sophomore Liz Pentecost was recently featured on an 11alive story, as she enjoyed a day swimming with whale sharks in the Ocean Voyager tank at the Georgia Aquarium.

Pentecost was diagnosed with a spinal cord disease last year, leaving her unable to walk. To date, she has overcome numerous obstacles, including spending 50 days at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. 

Spending time in Ocean Voyager tank was an experience she will never forget, "It felt almost like my legs worked, I felt like I could kick my legs and actually do it myself, swim myself.  I felt free."
