David O'Shea is the Varsity Boy's Soccer Head Coach. Coach O'Shea has experience playing at both high school and amateur club level in England. He also played at college level for the University of Central Lancashire. After spending time coaching in several soccer programs and clinics in England he moved to United States and began coaching U-12s. Coach O'Shea coached for three years at both club and high school level in the Augusta area and subsequently moved to Atlanta to take a teaching/coaching position at SPX.   Coach O'Shea started with the SPX JV program and led them to an undefeated season. The following year he stepped up to be assistant to varsity head coach Killebrew Bailey. In his first year as assistant coach he helped guide them to a state championship.  In his second season he helped to lead the team to a final four finish.  After Coach Bailey stepped down, Coach O'Shea replaced him as head coach.  In his first year as head coach, Coach O'Shea guided his team to a undefeated season and a AAA State Championship.  The team were subsequently named ESPN HS Fab50 National Champions. 

Lucas Moreno

Lucas Moreno is the Varsity Boy's Soccer Assistant Coach. Lucas is from Maracaibo, Venezuela, and began playing soccer for several youth teams at an early age in Venezuela and Colombia. In 1991, Lucas' family relocated to Atlanta. He played locally for TYSA and Concorde youth select club teams. Lucas has played under former u-20 Canadian Men's National Team coach Paul James and other college and professional coaches as a standout player at the Coastal Carolina University Soccer Academy. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2005. From 2001-03 Mr. Moreno went on to gain valuable experience playing and training with Mexican first division professional teams Queretaro Futbol Club, Deportivo Celaya, and Salamanca Petroleros under head coach Hugo Serrano. After several knee injuries, Lucas turned his attention to coaching. Using his background in Exercise Science, which he also studied at Georgia State University, he has gone on to train athletes at multiple levels while working for Bally Total Fitness and LA Fitness Sports Club Int'l. Mr. Moreno currently hold's a USSF National C Coaching License.

Coach Moreno's expertise was influential in the success of the 2011 season resulting in an undefeated season and a AAA State Championship.  The team was also named ESPN HS Fab50 National Champions.
