St Pius Band has worked with, met, hosted each of the following musical celebrities:

 

Page Hamilton & Helmet - The SPX Battery section performed w/ the famous hard rock band Helmet in November 2016. The SPX Symphonic Band will premiere a commissioned work written by Page Hamilton in March 2017. (Photo by Mike White)

 

  

Jeff Coffin & Mu'tet - Saxophonist for Bela Fleck, and Dave Matthews Band. Featuring Felix Pastorius on bass (son of legendary Jazz Bassist Jaco Pastorius), Roy "Futureman" Wooten on drums (Bela Fleck), Chris Walters on keys, and Bill Fanning on trumpet. SPX hosted Jeff and his band for a music lecture and a wonderful concert in 2014.

 

 

Jack White - Owner of Third Man Records, former member of The White Stripes and several other groups. The SPX Marching Golden Lions recorded their drum cadence, fight song, and school Alma Mater song at Third Man Records in Nashville, TN October 2013. The band was lucky enough to have Jack observe the recording, and then meet and hang out with him in the gift shop afterwards. 

 

 Brick - 1970's famous R&B/Disco Band Brick came to visit the Marching Golden Lions to talk about music in the 70's and what it was like to be a famous band during that time.

TV appearances:

 The Marching Golden Lions were featured in the Kroger commercial "Red White & Barbecue" which ran on TV in Atlanta summer 2015. 

 The St Pius drumline and color guard members attended the filming for the 2014 Atlanta audition of America's Got Talent. Short snippets of the band members were used here and there during the 2014 season audition broadcasting. 

The band was featured on NBC 11 Alive's High School Sports live Friday night program in 2011.

St Pius Band was featured on an episode of the reality TV show "Drumroll" in 2007 on the Peachtree TV network. The show followed the happenings of the Southwest Dekalb high school marching band.
